Delicious ice cream cookies!! A must try. There are many different options of cookies/brownies and then your choice of ice cream and toppings. Don't let the pictures fool you, the sandwiches are quite large and filling, definitely worth it.

Definitely a place to stop in for a sweet treat when the craving hits. My partner and I ended up going twice to get ice cream cookie sandwiches. We tried these two combos since they're the only vegan options. 1. 2 cookies, 1 cookie was the fudge brownie, the second was chocolate chip, with chocolate chip ice cream, sprinkles and Oreo cookies. 2. Both cookies were chocolate chip, with chocolate chip ice cream, and Oreos. We recommend option #2. We found the fudge brownie cookie to be a bit intense and loved the chocolate chip by itself instead. A bit less sweet and over powering. Something we will only do occasionally though. Cost $20 for 2 of them. Ample seating when it's less busy, and service is quick. We asked for our cookies to be heated (recommend) as it softens the cookie a bit. Servers were friendly and quick as well.

Cookies good. Ice cream good. Combine the two, even better! In all seriousness, I came here with a large group, we all ordered different variations of the ice cream cookie sandwich and there wasn’t one bad combination out there. I ordered Gooey Cake Butter Cake cookies with cookie dough ice cream and brownie bits and would 10/10 get it again. Definitely recommend trying this place if you’re in town and want a fun dessert. It’s also only a block from the Pacific Beach boardwalk, so it’s a convenient walk from the beach. But, since it’s so popular there can be a line, so plan accordingly!

So good! Line goes by fast. Worth the wait. I got a chocolate chip cookie vanilla ice cream sandwich warmed up. Delicious 😋. My son got a funfetti cookie. Husband got a cookie dough ice cream Sunday

The overall rating is a 10/10 for ice cream sandwiches. Food: Had the snickerdoodle with vanilla ice cream and fruity pebbles. Atmosphere: Very nice place, clean and well laid out. Service: Friendly staff and decent wait times. No real recommendation for improvements.

There is literally a line out the door for this place. Come at nighttime its faster. They have warm brownie pieces as well.

Amazingly decadent ice cream snacks! I had the cookies and cream + blueberry cobbler and they were properly whipped and airy. Everything is made with cane sugar, which is a nice touch.

GREAT idea!!! Wow name perfect for the concept! Atmosphere your personal talk way too much and had to wait too much! Other than that amazing!

The Baked Bear took our phone orders. It was ready to go when I arrived. I got a snickerdoodle cookie sandwich with mudpie . The whole ice cream sandwich was still cold when arriving to the hotel. We had a 8 minute walk to the store. That was the best icecream cookie sandwich. Can't wait to go back next year.

Ice cream sandwiches are not a novelty and places proposing them have been popping up all over the place, whether in trucks or brick and mortar places. The Baked Bear is one of them. Created in San Diego in 2013 by Shane Stanger and Rob Robbins, this place is a bit overwhelming. Yes, there are so many combinations between cookies, brownies or doughnuts to the variety of ice cream and topping that it is endless. And they make their own cookies.

When we arrived line out the door of about 20 people, quick moving line and we were inside ordering in no time. You select cookie, brownie or donut for your sandwich then ice cream and toppings. I gad s'mores and red velvet cookies with bear batter ice cream and had it hot pressed. Will stop again if we are in San Diego.

The line on Sunday night was half way down the block for this place, so we came back during the week. OH MY GOODNESS am I glad we did. Ice cream is fresh and rich. The brownies were to die for. I wish I could take some back home with me. Do not miss it when in town!

The Baked Bear was birth in San Diego by a couple of childhood friends who left their careers to start this amazing place. Basically they make ice cream sandwiches using original-made ice cream that is held together by two fresh-baked cookies. The cool thing is that you can pick any flavor ice cream and any combination of cookies that you want. I got the macadamia nut and pumpkin spice cookies with praline ice cream. It was the perfect treat for me to devour as I strolled the boardwalk along the beach.

I recently reviewed a new ice cream sandwich place near my workplace. We were wanting something for dessert after a great dinner, and the Baked Bear did not disappoint, unlike the place back home. I had an ice cream sandwich with a peanut butter cookie (amaze balls!!!) and a chocolate chip cookie on the other end with creamy vanilla. My husband had mint ice cream with a brownie on one end and a peanut butter cookie on the other. He was surprised the brownie was so good that he said he should have ordered all brownie. They also have donuts that could have been used, but neither of us were in the mood to venture down that path. The place was packed ... for good reason!

I can't say I'm a huge Baked Bear fan, but my friends had never been and wanted to check it out since they had a line out the door. It's definitely the busiest location I've been to and you can tell because of the line out the door and lack of the usual friendly service. They're typically super nice, so maybe it was just an off day.

WOW! I've been to plenty of places doing the cookie and ice cream thing, but this shop really pulls it off. They even have a brownie ice cream sandwich. (Ghirardelli is the bomb!) The cookies were super soft and the ice cream was fabulous. The best thing though, was an ice cream sandwich with a glazed donut instead of cookies. The kind of thing dreams are made of.

The Baked Bear is a popular ice cream sandwich shop with several locations throughout San Diego. I’ve heard about it for quite some time, but haven’t gotten around to actually visiting until several weeks ago. We had dinner in Pacific Beach and decided to wander down to the shop for a post-dinner snack, since I had been contacted by the PR team to check it out.

Staff is pretty nice, and the concept of their ice cream is interesting. You just choose 2 cookies or 1 cookie 1 brownie and they put your ice cream choice in the middle. Simply delicious. I got chocolate chip cookie and a brownie with the mint ice cream. All i can say is that thing should be called foodgasm! ☺️

Happy staff happy business. I think this definitely transcends here at baked bear!

The atmosphere is fun and light and the ice cream is great smooth and creamy and everything I want when I think of ice cream. My go to is the strawberry cheesecake ice cream they have. I don't usually get a cookie.... I know shame on me but I have had the donut 🙈😍 and it is
a m a z I n g!

There is always a line so don't get discouraged, it moves quickly :).

Cookies and ice cream - best of both worlds. Simple concept. Cookie and ice cream coming together as a"sandwich" is a great treat.
Serena Fontenoy
Simple Concept. I love the concept, but I wish they did something to make their sandwiches stand out (like homemade cookies or brownies) but at least they bake everything in house. My sandwich was good just wish I was wowed a little more!

The brainchild of a lifelong ambition between San Diego natives and best friends Shane Stanger and Rob Robbins, The Baked Bear offers a modern take on an old-fashioned ice cream sandwich with made-to-order combinations of baked in-house gourmet cookies and California-crafted ice cream flavors. We were in the mood for ice cream, and this place looked perfect. Chocolate chip cookies are my #1 dessert choice, so an ice cream sandwich place? Yes please!

The Baked Bear, which opened last year, specializes in custom ice cream sandwiches. It’s our favorite place to get cookie and brownie ice cream sandwiches in San Diego, with so many flavor combinations to choose from and the huge amount of ice cream they pack into each sandwich. I always find myself having trouble finishing an entire one. Doughnuts and ice cream are two of my favorite things and I’ve been on a mission to find a place that offers a good donut ice cream sandwich. I’m surprised doughnut shops don’t offer it, especially in the summer. The donuts are on the small side, about the size of a Krispy Kreme filled donut. After they scoop on the ice cream, they place it into the waffle iron for a very quick turn, heating up the donut slightly but without compromising the ice cream. Because the
