Perfect taqueria! Plenty of room around the comfy tables. Colorful sarapes on the wall. HUGE portions of wonderful cheese enchiladas, carne guisada (they call it beef tips in gravy, but we know) and good puffy tacos! The horchata and tea were great. But the tortillas!! Freshmade, there. So good, you could barely tell the corn from the flour, they both looked amazing, perfect thickness. I have been here many times, will always go back. For right now, I think it's time for leftovers!
This is a small hidden away place so glad we found it. This place has great food and wonderful service. If anyone reads this review you should really try this place. If I ever come back to San Antonio I'm definitely coming here again
Authentic Mexican cuisine. The food is a bit pricey but delicious. I would recommend ordering food to go. It is always busy and a bit loud inside. The menu is well done. It has great pictures next to each item so you know what you are getting. If you go late morning or afternoon the parking lot maybe full on Saturday or Sunday.
Been here a few times. Always good for breakfast. Only had lunch once and thoroughly enjoyed their Puffy Tacos. I have a friend that will go there often for the chalupas. Service is always friendly and fast. This place gets blasted at lunch usually but it's a pretty big place so usually there's enough space. They've got all the basic things you would expect plus a few more Regional offerings.
Delicious, inexpensive, and fast service.
They serve classic San Antonio Tex-Mex/ Northern Mexico food. I've been eating here for years and the food has always been delicious. My favorite is the enchiladas verdes de pollo. The menu has a good selection of bistek (steak), chicken, and shrimp dishes. Their daily specials range from Monday's Mole con Pollo or Puerco con Nopales y salsa roja (both highly recommended) Mondays; Chile Relleños on Tues; calabaza con pollo on Wednesdays; Steak Ranchero on Thursdays; fideo soup/fajitas mix on Fridays. Chips and Salsa served when you sit down. The staff is very attentive and kind. Nice smiles from everyone. The owner is a hard working man, and a multi-tasking cyclone. The man is a beast!
--》All meals have some kind of meat in them, although they would probably accomidate vegetarians, the menu is NOT vegan friendly.
Typical aguas frescas are available as well. (Horchata, Jamaica, Tamarindo, Limonada)
Clean and good ambiance with large windows allowing for narural light and people watching.
Their busiest time is lunch time daily and Sat and Sun morning/noon. The accustics can be a little loud when busy.
Enjoy!
Provecho!
They ran out of pezole which is my usual favorite but I had the menudo and wow was that good! Kinda glad to try something different! Everything was delicious and they give you plenty of salsa. Nice snacks to pick from too.
Great service, great restaurant. 👍
Very good food. This place has been here for over 10 years. Lots of seating. Clean restrooms. Wait staff is a little slow. Lunch specials. Homemade Tex mex. 9.00 for a Mexican plate. Tea not included. Big open floor plan. One cashier at the front . You have to stand in line to pay. Lots of parking. In the colony strip.
High traffic during a Friday dine-in but friendly and fast service! I loved our server's bilingual communication as someone who is bilingual as well. Food was delicious and fresh, I'll def be back! Authentic Mexican food
