Great tasty food with large variety of entrees and vegetables, salad, desserts, drinks, milkshakes etc and an awesome dining environment. Family restaurant, very convenient for kids. Kids eat free every Wednesday and Saturday with each adult purchase. Love it and I bet you will too.
Today we were at Luby's with a friend whose Aunt Val was celebrating her 100th Birthday. It was a good choice. Luby's is the place to come for this special occasion. Cafeteria style, you each diner selects what they like to eat from a wide variety of entrees and sides, tempting dessets, & adequate seating in dining room to accomodate your group. Over the years, we've eaten at this Luby's location many times because it is nearest to our home. Our friend picked up the tab for the six of us. From the serving line I selected a mixed fruit bowl. Covered cheese steak, German cooked potatoes, pinto beans, & garlic bread. Nothing really stood out but it was substantial and good. While we enjoyed our meals & socialized, Kendrick, one of the wait staff, stood nearby to fill all of our extra requests.
I hadn’t been to a Luby’s in years and this experience made me regret not going more often. I used to go to Luby’s all the time as a kid and as I got older I kind of drifted away from it. Last Sunday I saw it as I was out and about and decided to stop for lunch. The service was exceptional, the food was delicious, and everything in the restaurant was very clean. There were two things that made me give a 4 star instead of 5: first, the cornbread was AWFUL. No flavor and was extremely dry. It honestly tasted like a big cornbread crouton that was a week old. Also, the prices for a regular plate are somewhat reasonable but extras are very expense. $5 for a slice of cake, $2 for a cookie, basically have to add 50% of your meal price if you want to get an additional side. So stick to the traditional one entree and 2 sides and you’ll be good. Overall a great experience and I fully plan on coming back!
My second visit was actually for my guy and he truly enjoyed his meal especially the Seafood Gumbo!!!! He enjoyed the strawberry shortcake!!!

Last time we were at luby s they had discontinued salads and some others items but they have since added them back. Now they are prepackaged so they are not dishing them up. This really seems better. They have changed things so people can not reach in and grab things which is the way it always should have been. They also increased staff so it is much more efficient. The quality of the food was good and plentiful. Staff was friendly and helpful. I feel comfortable recommending it now and am glad we have it a second try.
