Just like their name, the food here truly taste authentic. I was in San Antonio for work and was craving a home-cooked meal. A friend introduced me here saying that this restaurant has always been his go-to place for Viet food. I left with a happy belly ☺️
In my journey to have Bún Thịt Nướng (pork vermicelli) every time I’m in “the city”, today I stopped at Pho Nguyen. Although the pork was sliced thin and had yummy caramelized crispy edges, just how I like, the rest of the dish was wanting. The veggies were sparse (lettuce, carrots, cucumbers, bean sprouts), and there were no peanuts or cilantro garnishes. I was hungry, so I dove right in, but you can tell from my photos what I’m talking about. However, the pork is so good, I’ll likely be back. I just hope they up the veggies and presentation.

I ordered the egg rolls 10/10, brisket pho 7/10, a pork banh mi 9/10 and boba tea!
All in all everything was absolutely delicious!
Tried take away and in-house dining. The take away was really good. Went in for the restaurant experience and was a bit disappointed. All in all - Great broth in the Pho, best over 5 other Pho houses. They were very cheap on the veggies (basil and bean sprouts, not fresh) in-house but the service and management were very friendly.
My first visit to Pho Nguyen and I was not disappointed. It was quiet on an early Saturday afternoon. Beautifully painted and decorated and so calm. I was between clients and needed to grab something quick so I selected the Banh Mi Thit Nuong - Seasoned Pork with veggies. The veggies were so crisp and fresh. The baguette was wonderfully toasted and the seasoned butter is what made the sandwich so, so good. I’m looking forward back to returning when I have more time to relax and sample more traditional menu items.
Hands down one of the best tasting Banh Mi sandwiches I’ve ever had! I had mine with chicken which was cooked to perfection and they’ve seemed to master the bun. You won’t be disappointed! 🤤

Waited too long to try this place out. Definitely enjoyed the pho and spring rolls. It's a little expensive but in my opinion it's worth it for the quality. For good pho in Stone Oak I'd recommend this place.
I grew up with Vietnamese food, and this restaurant has really really good food! The spring roll with grilled pork was made fresh to order, and the grilled pork was very tender and tasty. I definitely want to come back for the grilled pork platter.
When the egg rolls came out we were disappointed at first with the size (it was four egg rolls about 3 inches long each), but once we tasted them we knew these were the best cha gio we had ever had. They were very crispy, meaty, and salted just right.
The pho was very good too. I got the rare steak and brisket. The flavors were all done correctly, and the broth was spiced well. Someone else at the table got the Bun bo hue (spicy beef and pork soup) and that was very good as well.
The service was just fine. Not amazing, but polite and food came out very quickly.
The floor was rather dirty, but that didn't really bother me because the tables were clean.
I will definitely be back for more Vietnamese food!
Overall the food was great. Excellent customer service. I came in to meet up with a friend and we had skme good food. Ordered two bowls of Bun Bo Hue, spring rolls, egg rolls, clams skewers and a deep fried jumbo shrimp with bell peppers. All was delicious. Thr bun bo was a Vietnamese authentic dishes. Highly recommended for couples date, family meals, and quick lunch. Come by and check it out yourself.
