The South Chicken & Waffles

The wait staff was very friendly and nice. The food was excellent southern dishes and it was surprisingly not overwhelming sweet. The pancakes were soft and fluffy with blueberries in it and the topping was delicious the chicken and waffles was nice and crispy. The atmosphere was laid back with soft music playing in the background and sports playing on the flat screen TVs.

We had the Chicken and Waffle sliders with French toast waffle, Shrimp and Grits, and fried pickles. The food was good, however I wish the portion of the shrimp and grits was larger. The service was slow but the people were friendly and they gave us a complimentary bowl of gumbo which was very good as well. The only disappointing thing was that for some reason the grits had already started to cool and solidify but the sauce was warm enough to mix in and make the dish acceptable.

12/29/18. First time here. I wanted to see what all the talk was about. I ordered fresh squeeze lemonade. It was good. Of course I ordered chicken and waffles. I loved the waffle. The waffle was nice and crispy. The chicken had a great crispy outside and juicy in the inside. Just make sure to ask for hot sauce and butter. Im certain Aunt Sheryl or Nana was back there cooking. The batter on the chicken was just a tad bit salty but the syrup helped balance it out. Over all it was great and worth the hype!!!

Excellent food with attentive staff. The only complaint is that the food took a very long time to come out, was waiting about 20 minutes for our starter and then another or so for our food. Perhaps that was just this visit, as they were packed, but it's worth mentioning. Overall, still worth it for the food, neat atmosphere, and overall great presence.
