This is amazing pizza. From the flagship tradition of the Pizza Pie and it’s perfectly balanced red sauce , creamy melty cheese and crispy/chewy magic of the sourdough crust. You can buy cheese pizzas at hundreds of places in San Antonio. You will buy none better in SATX. The other end of that pizza menu might best be exemplified by the Not Pizza. It features an apricot glaze where you expect red sauce...and is topped with prosciutto, arugula and cheese... I’d include this pie as a not-to-miss if you’re looking for memorable flavor! Oh.. and there is draft beer... DRAFT BEER... and specially crafted cocktails with all the creativity and heft as at these owners other properties: Feast, Rebelle & Battalion.

The food was excellent and the staff was awesome! My husband and I stopped in for dinner on a Thursday night after trying to find a place to dine during the cold weather (everywhere we had in mind was closed—weird for us being from Colorado, lol). We had to wait about 15 minutes for a table but it was totally worth it. Everyone from the restaurant that we talked to was so friendly. We shared a big ranch salad and the poppers. Both were full of flavor. We also each ordered a pizza. The toppings were fresh and the pizza was perfectly cooked. The ratio of sauce and cheese was perfect too. The mushrooms were to die for in my opinion. The ranch did cost $1 but was yummy. Also, the bathroom was clean as well. Overall, we enjoyed our dinner and will return.

Great pizza with an even better atmosphere. We visited on a busy Saturday evening and only waited about 35 minutes to be seated inside. Our server was great! She was polite and very attentive. We ordered the marinated castlevetrano olives, 'Is there a problem here' pizza, and 2 orders of the buffalo wings. Everything was delicious! The wing sauce was tangy, the pizza flavors were balanced, and the marinade left over from the olives made a great dipping sauce for the pizza crust. Highly recommend and we will definitely be returning!

I was visiting my mother (who lives San Antonio), and a friend recommended “Playland” for us to try. We were all pleasantly surprised with the atmosphere, the service, the food taste & quality, & the drinks from the bar (we visited during Happy Hour)! This is DEFINITELY a restaurant you will want to try if you’re visiting downtown San Antonio. Pizza & Wings are to die for! It’s just a hop, skip and a jump off the Riverwalk…& a lot less touristy! We were sat right away and our food arrived quickly. Chef Stefan even visited our table to make sure everything was delicious and prepared the way we liked it. Will definitely be back! Thank you! 😀

This pizza is excellent. The crust is just crisp enough, the toppings are perfectly cooked, and the cheese and sauce are added in just the right amount to ooze flavor and not oils. I can't stress enough the you should add basil to any pie. Be sure to try the pimento cheese balls which are equally delicious. Playland Pizza may make the best pizza in this part of Texas.

One of the best pizza places in San Antonio. The waiting time can get longer as they are always busy, reservations preferred. The ambience is lively and amazing. The menu is short but every dish has a lot to offer. We wanted to try their classic wood fired pizza and a we ordered the regular pie and topped it up with mushrooms and jalapeños. We totally loved it and would definitely visit playland pizza again.

Nice vibe. There is also a downstair (additional tables and also restroom). Outside dining as well. Its like a club/bar feelings because of the music that's being played, but not too loud that you can't enjoy. Overall it is a fancy restaurant for adults. I don't usually go clubbing, but this is enjoying for me.

We ordered a pepperoni and mushroom pizza. The pizza did have good flavor but was rather dry. I would highly recommend ordering dipping sauce with your pizza. There were several flies that we were working against but all in all, pretty good pizza. We would go back.

It's unfortunate to hear that this establishment will be closing soon, but I finally made it out to PlayLand pizza as I had business downtown this afternoon. Overall, I really enjoyed the experience, the restaurant was airy and open And there's an option to sit outdoors under the covered patio as well. Staff were very kind and attentive despite being busy. I ordered an appetizer of meatballs which I found to be above average and taste and consistency, However, I found the marinara sauce to really be the shining spot in the dish as it was filled with flavor. I ordered a 9-in pizza which came out around under 12 minutes later. I enjoyed the chewy yet Crunchy crust of the pizza and the very stringy cheeses put on top. I also like the flavor of the sausage that was used but would have liked to see the mushroom sauteed before put on the pizza as they were a bit watery. In terms of pizza, I give it a 7.5 out of 10, just wish the pizza it self was seasoned a little better but adding Parmesan cheese to it took care of my qualms.

Great pizza. The dough is soft and crispy, toppings are fresh. It’s the first pizza place that I didn’t have to say “extra basil!” They know the proper amount of basil to put on pizza-all if it! We had the roof fire white pizza and the bruiser. Both were delicious. The pesto on the former was amazing and the prosciutto on the latter was very crispy. The red sauce on the latter was good too. Service was great. Atmosphere is cool too. The wings aren’t spicy so if you want spicy eat the peppers that come with them. The flavour was good but expected heat given the description but instead they were only sweet. The cucumber martini was refreshing.

To start I want to note that their menu displayed on Google does not match the menu they now have, so beware if you wanted something specific. That being said, the staff are very friendly and helped me pick something similar to what I wanted! We had a sloght issue with them originally putting meat on one side that I didn't want, but they offered to remake it immediately. The pizza itself was thinner, more like a New York Style. It had a nice blend of flavors from their spices and a sweeter tone from honey they added. Very good and worth the trouble. The price was decent and the atmosphere was very relaxing making the whole experience good. Well worth a visit!
