I have been spending a lot of time in Salt Lake City as of late. My son has recently been diagnosed with Epilepsy, and we have been staying at the "Ronald McDonald House". This pastry shop is on the way. Every time I have driven by, I would say I want to go there...never happened. Finally after 6 visits, we stopped, and it was so worth it. The shop is super cute, and the pastries make your eyes roll back in your head!! We had the almond lace cookies, the happy face sugar cookies, the whoopie pies, pineapple rum cake, lemon cake, mint cake, caramel cake, buttercream coconut cake, and the teddy bear donuts. I recommend them all! This really is a must if you are in the Salt Lake City area!

I love this Bakery. I went here weekly when I lived in Utah. Now when I come to visit, I buy enough to make it back to California.

My first time here and from seeing so many reviews I’ve been wanting to try it. I love decor, it’s very cute inside. The large glass cases allows you to see everything they have. The line was long but moved fast. We wanted to try a little bit of everything. The cakes are made with real butter and you can taste the quality of the freshness. I wasn’t a fan of the cookies. The cakes tasted delicious but are very rich. When I saw the total at the end I was kinda shocked at how expensive it was. I’d go back and give it another try, my overall experience was okay. The staff are friendly. Luckily we found parking on the side of the building but there’s a lot of traffic the area.

You have to stop here when in Salt Lake City! The pastries and cookies are awesome! Love love love the history! Ask to see the book is cakes from 1937! The tip that decorates the cupcakes is the original from the 1940's they had custom-made! The staff is fun, and you feel welcomed the moment you walk through the door!

I started going to this bakery after my favorite closed. It's the only place I could find the Pineapple Rum cake. Unfortunately it's a hit and miss. Sometimes it's perfect with the Rum flavoring. Or others like this past Saturday June 3rd, 2023, there was zero Rum flavor. Which is disappointing with how much you spend per piece. I have tried many other treats and they are all fresh and delicious. But I wish there was consistency on the main reason I go for.

This place was so cute and the woman that helped us in the front was super sweet! We got their caramel cake, a Sammie and a vanilla birthday cake and it was all amazing! I highly suggest the caramel cake it was the best of the three 👌🏽

Has to be the best bakery I have visited since living here in Utah! You can feel the love and the tradition that comes with the many years of experience as you walk in the door and are presented with a wide range of cakes, cookies and cupcakes. Everything that I got was so fresh and delicious.

We went to Mrs.Backers and loved it! We got the little German Chocolate cake, Buttercream triangle, Pineapple Rum cake, and a molasses cookie. They were each so fresh and delicious. The Buttercream frosting was incredible. Can't wait to go again.

Whenever we’re in town, Mrs. Backers is a must visit. The pineapple rum mini pastry cakes are a joyful morsel both in taste and looks. Order a cake, devour a key lime pie, nibble a chocolate bear, you’ll be so glad you did.

I love this place. I always make a stop whenever I have appointments at The Huntsman. It's my own little sweet therapy!
