Happy Year of the Rabbit! We decided to eat out for the new year instead of cook and this is by far the best Chinese food we’ve had in Oakville and Mehlville so far! Actually still set up for dine in, friendly service, family atmosphere, and great family style food service. (Will be back to try the roast duck that you need to order ahead.)

If you're like me, you have tried to like Chinese food. You try new establishments, one after the other. You tell yourself each time, "This is the one." You are let down each time. One of my friends brought me here years ago. Honestly, one of the best things to happen to my palette. The food is great. Seriously, why can't anyone else fry rice like this? The owners are friendly and hard working. If you made it this far into this random internet review, you need to go there and find out for yourself.

My family and I have been going to Hunan Peking for a long time. Their hot and sour soup is the best in town, crab rangoon and egg rolls fantastic. I havent had something there I didnt like! Not to mention, they are SO sweet! Love the owners. It's a small family owned establishment. I suggest carry out (or dining in once the virus passes). I really hope more people discover them, truly the BEST chinese food hands down and they deserve a lot of business.

Tried this restaurant out for the first time tonight as it was recommended by a friend. We got take out delivered and while the price, speed and taste was good an item was missing. Called and they offered credit or the food. As my kids wanted the item, I got the food. While I had a wait a little while for it they doubled the missing order and added some cookies. I appreciate a restaurant that knows how to make things right.

The fried rice was not very tasty and was dry. We waited an hour and forty minutes for delivery (but she did tell us it would be over an hour when we placed the order because they were VERY busy) so perhaps the rice sat for a long time? The crab Rangoon was typical good. What is not to love about fried cream cheese after all? The hot and our soup was YUMMY and just what the doctor ordered! The crunchy noodles that accompanied it were large and fresh. The crispy shrimp was great. The shrimp are big and the broccoli was perfectly steamed. The sauce is fantastic. We will definitely be ordering from here in the future.

I highly recommend this charming & very good restaurant. It is beautifully decorated with framed Chinese embroideries of graceful birds that give Hunan Peking a nice relaxing & quiet atmoshere. The owners are a nice couple-- a man & wife who are warm, always glad to see you. It is reasonably priced, clean & the food is excellent with great variety of meals. l the special dinner with roundish chicken pieces, broccoli, another meat. It was Delicious! I often have chicken or Turkey with mixed veggies, or broccoli, stir fried. Less expensive, but good! My husband liked the special dinner--orange beef very much. I like the many soups-- fish or mixed soups for 2 people & egg drop soup always. Big menu, plus you can add, delete,or change items on the menu, usually. Soft, colored, comfortable. along the sides. Center of room with a surrounding separation are long tables for special groups as well as smaller tables

Running low on groceries, so we ate dinner at Hunan Peking in Oakville. Oh my gosh guys .... this place is great! Upon sitting, we were immediately served ice water and hot tea (we didn't have to ask for either). The waitress/owner was *very* sweet and explained to us the difference between typical & Hunan Chinese food (basically, its a bit spicier). I got the orange chicken and it was *really* good ... She even picked out the peas from the fried rice (love fried rice - hate peas) and gave them to Michael! When she brought the check, we got the usual 2 fortune cookies, but also 2 shortbread cookies. St Louis peeps ... you should try out this place. The food was really yummy, the portions were generous, and the service was excellent!

Delivery is usually an hour, but the food is always delicious. My family & I have been ordering for 4+ years and at least 4 times a year. The owner Richard always delivers and we have come to know him. He is delightful. If you need your food sooner I would suggest take-out, especially on the weekend.
