Our first time at this restaurant. Great food and portions. I got the beef brisket, and my husband got the meat loaf. We had a beautiful view of Lake Huron. This is one of the restaurants we visited on our honeymoon. We love going up north a couple of times a year. We'll more than likely come back.

This is now my wife’s favorite restaurant in Michigan. We had a really kind waitress who gave us great food recommendations. The whitefish cakes were one of the best appetizers we’ve ever had. Portion sizes were generous. Eating here will be a new tradition for us.

Spending the weekend in the Soo and looking for a good place to eat and someone had recommended coming here. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, was seated right away. Very roomy out in the patio. I had the brisket and my friend had the whitefish combo, both were very good. Prices were a little high but you get a lot of food. It'd be worth a try.

A wonderful atmosphere can be found here, especially while dining outside on the patio during a beautiful day full of sunshine. The view of the bay and lighthouse both add to the ambiance of this spot as well. I had the shrimp, tossed in Boom Boom sauce, and it was my favorite meal of our 5-day motorcycle trip. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Favorite Michigan State U.P. restaurant! One of our fav's on repeat. We come for Poorman's Whitefish, house specialty. Awesome servers, cool bartenders, lax lake front atmosphere. A St. Ignace gem! 😋

We visited with a plan to have patio dining. We easily got in without any issues or waiting. The waitstaff was very friendly. I ordered the fresh perch with steak fries and coleslaw. I got about 6 pieces total. The price at $25.99 was a bit higher than I would have liked, but I understand that we were paying for the view which did not disappoint and was well worth the cost.

Service was great. Had fried shrimp with coleslaw and vegetables and had 10oz steak with coleslaw and vegetables. Shrimp were ok, on smaller side but were tasty. steak was ordered to medium well but served medium. Not a big deal since it was close. However the cut was not good, of the 10oz, may 4 oz was edible. Rest was grizzle or tendon. Place is nice with gift shop but wouldn’t recommend the steak.

Excellent whitefish dish cooked in a foil bake. Not sure why it's called "Poor Man's Whitefish" because it was AMAZING! The restaurant is beautiful; inside and out. Outside dining is wonderful on the screened in porch overlooking the water. Our waiter was awesome, friendly and attentive! The gift shop was huge and included the caboose! Great place! Will definitely be back! Afterwards we enjoyed the ice cream right in front and the stunning view from the double decker bus!
