There’s really only 3 decent places to eat at this time of the year in St. Ignace…but it was just 2 until we stopped here on a whim. Really good food, reasonably priced, and a full bar. Can’t ask for much more in a sleepy town at the end of tourist season. This will now be a regular stop for us on our annual visit.
It has some mediocre service. The staff is polite enough, but most of them seem to be from Jamaica? Some southern island's, and English is not their first language. But the whitefish was lovely, the fries meh. But you MUST try the whitefish livers! They were amazing!!! Absolutely loved them. Worth a stop, just for those. 😋
If you're visiting St Ignace, you've gotta stop at the Galley! The food is made fresh to order and tastes amazing! We can all recommend their whitefish or walleye served with seasonal veggies ( green beans, sliced carrots, and broccoli sautéed on butter and seasoned deliciously), the whitefish dip, summer salad with grilled chicken, and kids' meals including the burgers and grilled cheese. The servers are helpful and polite, but most importantly, the Galley is reliable. What I mean here is the fact that their website says they're open until 10pm on Sundays, and they truly are as one of not that many local restaurants that have false information on their web pages (Buoys By The Bay). We were happy to dine at the Galley twice during our weekend trip to Mackinac Island, and the food and the service were excellent on both occasions. The only thing that needs some improvement is the decor as it is slightly outdated. Still, we recommend the Galley in St,Ignace!
