So one thing to keep in mind about this place is that you want to get there early if you want your choice of the menu. This is a small place, and once they are out of something for the day, they're out. That being said, though, I've rarely had such friendly and attentive service at any place I've gone to. The owner is exceedingly nice and helpful. He's from St. Thomas originally and came to Sacramento because his sister told him there were no authentic Caribbean places here. The plantains are amazing! So was the red snapper and sweet potato pie I had for dessert. All entrees come with plantains and red beans and rice. It's a good portion of food...and so delicious I cleaned my plate. The decor and building may not much, but what's inside has a whole lot of flavor and personality. Give these guys a try, they're wonderful! P.S Try the Scotch Bonnet Hot Pepper Sauce. Just the right amount of kick, and not too spicy for those that are sensitive to heat.
Great food, great customer service. Will definitely be back.
Had a great experience here! The costumer service is on point, it was as if we were relatives. The greeter/server/cook who I am also assuming is the owner is very attentive and treated our party of 4 very well. If only other restaurants can be this way. The food is as good as it looks and does take some time, but quality meals take time. I liked the plantains and the rice & beans here better than other Caribbean restaurants I’ve been to. Overall, this nice family owned restaurant is worth giving a try if you’re in the area.
