Our recent anniversary dinner at THAI - The House of Authentic Ingredients in Sacramento was a delightful experience, especially for us vegetarians who love Thai cuisine.
Ambiance: 4/5
The restaurant boasts a warm and cozy charm. It features a bar area, adding to the overall vibe. They also have patio dining, which we didn’t opt for due to the cold weather. Inside, the space felt a bit cramped as the tables were quite close to each other, but this is a minor point when weighed against the delicious food and awesome service.
Service: 4/5
The service was commendable, particularly our server Connor, who was friendly and responsive. The initial oversight with eggs in our vegetarian order was quickly rectified. While there isn’t a separate kids’ menu, the staff was accommodating in adjusting the spice levels to suit the kids’ preferences.
Food: 4/5
• Pad Thai (For Kids): Tasty and kid-friendly.
• Green Curry: aromatic and flavorful, this dish was a delight.
• Pineapple Fried Rice: a delightful sweet-savory balance.
• Pad Kee Mao: The highlight of our meal, perfectly spiced and packed with fresh veggies and tofu.
We ordered our dishes at a 5/10 spice level but plan to try a spicier version next time. The portion sizes were generous, providing great value for the price.
Parking:
They have separate free parking available across the street, which was quite convenient.
Overall, THAI - The House of Authentic Ingredients is a great spot for authentic Thai cuisine. We definitely plan to revisit, perhaps trying the outdoor patio when the weather is warmer.
Although there are variations to suit diners, nearly 90% meet Thai standards so the food is very delicious. Especially I can't believe it's so cheap. 1 plate of fried rice, 1 pad thai, 1 papaya salad, 1 chicken curry and 2 cups of Thai milk tea but only 95 USD while the food is a lot. The four of us ate leftovers and took them home.
I got the paupia as an app, The pad see eiw and khao soi as the main dishes with a side of aunchun rice. Thai tea tiramisu for dessert. I wanted to get a different app and dessert but they were sold out. The portion sizes were on the larger side so you can easily split if necessary.
The food quality was phenomenal. Every dish felt authentic and was bursting with flavor. There was both indoor and outdoor seating which helps with weather conditions (raining or extreme heat)
The food was delicious. Customer service was amazing.Place is not so big, but they also have outdoor dining.
I had eggplant and shrimp and my mom had some type of noodles with shrimp, we also had some type of lettuce wrap shrimp. I loved the eggplant. I don’t remember the name of it but it was delicious 🤤 and I will be back. I had some cocktails with the name Thai in it. It was also good. I didn’t like my moms food but I will be back.
To be fair It was the beginning of one of the hottest day, June 30, 2023, around 102° degrees when we came here to celebrate my husband's birthday. I can only give 3⭐⭐⭐for Atmosphere😵 since it was just as hot inside as outdoor, maybe get more ceiling fans for indoors since Sacramento has so many hot days! Also since they have outdoor seatings, those cool misters will definitely be helpful when Sacramento is literally hot as hell and summer lasts a long time around here! But food and service was on point! Make sure to call ahead for reservations. 👍👍👍👍👍
In a nutshell; great food , great service, AC seemed broken (at this time) but they had fans and portable AC's around which may be a bit inconvenient
Food was great, tasted wonderful. The food didn't take too long as well considering it was a whole platter. The server/s were accommodating. There's a good amount of parking. Didn't take too long to get seated. Not much complaints besides the (speculated) broken AC. It was rather warm inside. They had a probable AC pointed at us while seated but that can only go so far. The inside felt rather compact as well. Overall the food is good, service is good, hope to come back on a different day when the conditions are better.
I ordered quite a few things here and was pleasantly surprised by the small plates but unfortunately didn’t care at all for the pad Thai and my partner did not enjoy her dish either. The chive cakes are good, I like the satay, but for some reason the pad Thai just tasted a bit off for me, almost as if another dishes flavor had gotten into it? I’m not really sure what the cause was but I’ll likely be back to try again.
The service is outstanding. The wait staff is young, friendly, and happy to talk about your order with no feeling of pressure to hurry along.
Overall I really like the vibe. Lovely space with some interesting and crafty ways of updating the appearance on a budget- but there are some table tops and small things in the details that may need to be replaced or refreshed once you look enough.
If I would’ve enjoyed just one more dish I think I would’ve given it 5 stars, I’ll probably update when I go back.
The food was very good. Small salad, Tom kha and curry with chicken. All excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful. Very nice place for lunch or dinner with a full bar!!
The service was friendly and prompt. Servers were very helpful in explaining the menu for my friend who has never been. I didn’t have to fill in at all. Food was delicious! I want to try everything on their menu. Will definitely be returning.
