It is hard to rate a BBQ place based on just one visit, one meal. I’d like to try some other meats from here, but it is a bit out of the way for me to visit often. So, first visit, I tried a brisket sandwich with French fries.
The meat was very tender and flavorful, and more of it than I expected. Unfortunately, a rather dull roll was disappointing. Just not very good. The meat came without sauce, which I liked, but there were just two sauces available at the table. One was sweet, the other wasn’t labeled. A bit disappointing. Counter service was fast, not particularly friendly, just disinterested and in a hurry even though I was the only person placing an order. I wouldn’t consider coming back, but the meat itself was great and I want to try some other options

We like to visit new places during certain months.
December is one of those months, since traveling to and from family members for the holidays is a time consuming matter.
I have watched this place as the students at Sacramento city college and the take out crowds are consistent and large.
There is also a stage for live music and large screen TV's for sporting events.
IMHO the food is good to just ok. Portions for bbq are modest. I ordered a plate of 2 meats (there is an option for 3 meats).
You can order chicken, pulled pork, hot links, brisket, ribs and tri-tip. The last three meats can only be ordered on the 3 item plate option.
I ordered the hot links and pulled pork. The pulled pork needed some vinegar marinade. I am use to North Carolina and Texas pulled pork. The hot link was good and spicy, but there was only 1. Portions were lacking for price.
My wife ordered the chicken and pulled pork. The sides she selected were the baked beans and potato salad. I sampled both the sides. The baked beans were unique. A cross between regular baked beans and sweet bbq sauce added. The potato salad was homemade. Big chunks of potato with a nice mix of onion, celery and mayo and other items. My sides were grilled asparagus (premium item add 2.00) and a salad with a vinaigrette dressing.
Hot bread/buns were included.
Drinks include fountain and beer
In all an ok experience.
One of the big drawbacks was unlike other bbq restaurants, they only offered two different types of bbq sauce, smokey bbq and a spicy sauce. Both were good though. The spicy bbq sauce having lots of kick.
I ordered the 2meat & 2 sides. Ribs are +2$. I chose ribs 2x, with salad and potato salad . Ribs were thick, nice (light) smoke flavor. My salad was delicious! Potato salad was with red potatoes pretty good. My bread bun was a bit hard so didn't eat it. Dad got 2 meat &2 sides, ribs and tri tip. Ribs were thick, tri tip 2.5 was a little dry. Sides were beans and potatoe salad. Beans were a little soupy bt delicious flavor. I'll be back again to try different things. Great outdoor seating . Good inside seating. Parking is free and right next to business.
Best burgers in the area, all of us were satisfied. Bacon cheese burger was to die for. Chicken sandwich was so crispy and perfect. Highly recommended!
I love supporting the mom & pop shops and the BBQ & Burgers on Sutterville Road is one of them for their delicious BBQ’d meats. Fall off the bone tender melt in your mouth like butter goodness. 😋
Some places serve their brisket so thinly sliced that you can barely taste the brisket. Not here. Pair it with a mango margarita, life is good again. They also serve beers and other adult beverages. Friendly and attentive staff.

What more can be said.....
This establishment has been around for a very long time way before it was barbecue and burgers
Whenever I would drive by, I would see the big black smoker cooking up all kinds of delicious meats
And all the years of driving by and smelling the wonderful aroma of smoked meat I never had the time to stop by
Until today, because I promised my grandson I would go with him
Wow! what a fabulous deliciousness of food
None of it was oily or greasy and it all tasted very fresh
The Ribs and Tri tip were tender and the Burger was cooked to perfection
My compliments to the cook or cooks or chef because he or she knows what they're doing in the kitchen💪
We arrived around 4 PM, And there were 2 or 3 other tables with customers eating there
We were seated immediately, given menus and within a few minutes our order was taken
I should have timed it because it was under 15 minutes before everything we had ordered was bought to the table piping hot
That was quick and nothing was cold except for the potato salad
I would suggest going there on a weekday before 5 PM, if possible
I'm sure that it fills up during the lunch and dinner hours especially on the weekends
All of the young ladies there were amiable, approachable, courteous and attentive🙌
So different than when we went to the Delta King, which is supposed to be a high end establishment
I'll be posting a separate review on that experience
So getting back to the BBQ and Burgers.....🍔😋
The bathrooms were clean where we sat was clean all the tables and chairs and floors were clean the outside was clean
Their customer service was exceptional, no masks required, dine in or take out available, no reservations needed, one Handicap parking space; however, there are several other parking spaces close to the building, inside and outside dining areas and they have good music playing in the background:)
Take a look at the menu and you'll be able to see if there are any vegetarian options

BBQ & Burgers were at Sac City College a few weeks ago during an open house, and they provided all the food
I'm sure all the other items on the menu are just as good
Next time I go, I'm taking the whole family with me ;)
I'll make just one suggestion.....have Au Jus dip for the Tri-tip or maybe it's just my taste buds craving it :)
Came here on a whim, was going to starbucks to get something for my girlfriend when I noticed this place and made the executive decision to stop by. The pulled pork fries were absolutely amazing. Should be the standard in which fries are judged. Their meats are tender and smoky, and the hot link, its amazing. Well worth it and I will be coming back.
I got the special double cheeseburger with fries and a drink, my gf got the smoked chicken sandwich. Both were great. Fries were crispy.
They have a 10% off with student ID. Great little place near campus with a spot for a band and outdoor seating.
Will be going back for some BBQ sometime.
This was the best hamburger I have had in a long time!!! I don't recall which one exactly it was, was the last one on the menu, something Spicy...., had bacon and also pulled pork on it. It was the PERFECT combination, which made the burger taste really good. I don't normally like the meaty flavor of burger patty, but this one had lots of flavors. I never go back to the same place to eat, always try different places, but I WILL go back here, it truly was an amazing burger.
We did not like the pulled pork sandwich, though.
With pulled pork, its hit and miss, even when I smoke or grill it it myself. This one did not have much flavor so we had to add lots of BBQ sauce on it.

Great customer service very welcoming environment. Food was amazing delicious; flavorful and savory down the the last bite. We got a few different plates and everyone was satisfied with what they ordered even all the way down the ice cold bottle cola to was down my burger as I sat on the patio with a view of sac city and moderate mid town traffic the morning couldn’t be any better the experience and the surrounds made everything magical as I devoured the bacon cheeseburger and fries as must try.
