First time here and let me just say, it has been the best breakfast place I have been to so far! I had the Big Daddy and it was delicious!!! The bacon was beyond tasty and the country potatoes were filled with flavor! It's the place to be on a hungry morning! More than 5 stars for sure!

Great environment, very kid friendly, service was great, our food arrived promptly, and everyone here was SO nice! We had the biscuits & gravy, chicken fried steak, and pancakes and there were no complaints. We also ordered potatoes and eggs from the child's menu and it was the perfect size and cost less than $2. We loved this place and will be back. :)
A Real Surprise. Went to this place on the advice of a Sacramento tourist magazine and wow. This place is great, its a small family type business that does everything well. The chicken fried steak was excellent and the service was outstanding. Its really nice to have a small family restaurant that takes pride in what they do.

Ooooohhhh yessssss!. Wow. Great breakfast food and time-travel as a bonus! This place has the small-town, kitschy feel I'd never have expected to find in an urban area. The staff, very attentive and professional, are also incredibly relaxed and fun. Went with a group of 8 from the office for lunch. Most had breakfast, everyone loved the food. The large-sized country-fried steak was no-knife-needed perfection, and came with 2 eggs, potatoes, and toast. Certainly a place all of us look forward to frequenting!

When I was a teenager I used to come here every month after a local swap meet. The food and service was fantastic back then. 25 years later I happened to be in the neighborhood at lunchtime and stopped in with my daughter. The place is the same... Still excellent food. Still friendly service. Still a great value!
Best breakfast ever!!!. Never heard of this place before urban spoon. decided to try it out. we are very happy we did. the country fried steak is the best ive ever had. even my daughter cleaned her plate and that is saying something. need to tell everyone that you need to come here.
Breakfast done right. Can't wait to go back. Top five breakfast place of all time. Will probably be #1 after a couple more trips. Sooo much good food to try :)
are you from the east coast and miss good southern food? are you reminiscing about the last time you had a decent piece of corn bread? if you answered yes to either of those questions, please GO HERE. this is the only place in all of california that has fantastic southern soul food and proper biscuits and gravy. not to mention how wonderful all of the sever are! this place truly feels like home without breaking the bank. thank me later!
This was my first time here so I can only rate the biscuits and gravy, it was really good. Coffee comes in a 'stay at the table' carafe that keeps it hot. Try this place, it is really good.

This is a very enjoyable spot. A huge breakfast menu. Fair prices. Has the funkiest decor withe a big electric train circling the dining room ceiling.
Home run! A friend referred me here and cannot have been most happiest that we have this as our number one fave breakfast place now. Yolanda was the perfect one to have set the tone. Aggie the cook (14 years with this place) 🤌🏾 had our meal out in a blink of an eye and my dude said the chef knows how to make a medium rare steak. The best he’s ever had! The brew fresh coffee and bring the container to your table.
Definitely recommended, parking in the back, dishes for vegans too!
Went there for lunch with a coworker of mine. Had a wonderful experience! The decor is very unique, and the vibe is definitely there. Our server was super helpful and tended to our every need. We received our food within 10 mins of ordering. The food was homemade and super delicious. I'll be bringing the rest of my coworkers when I come again.
Was out in Sacramento for my birthday weekend and came across this gem of a place for breakfast. Beyond glad because this place was beyond fantastic and delicious. Definitely picked an excellent spot!
The biscuits and gravy were to die for, my eggs were cooked to perfect (over easy) and my girlfriend’s chicken fried steak was the best I’ve ever had. The customer service was great, we got seated quick and the food was well portioned. For the price too, this place is unbeatable.

I Can see why this place is so highly rated. I feel like I just discovered gold!! I will definitely comeback many times more. The French toast was excellent. Just what I was looking for. Perfect breakfast spot.
This place is always a pleasant experience. Very quaint and kitchy decor. Had a great meal and service on Halloween. One of my all time favorite breakfast places. Can't wait to try their pie!
Cricket country kitchen is a family favorite and a Sacramento hidden gem. Every meal feels home made and warms not just the stomach, but also the heart. The biscuits and gravy are a must, but everything on the menu is amazing; you can’t go wrong! The eclectic decor and friendly staff are the cherry on top. We love cricket and are always looking forward to our next visit!
