Besides the wobbly window seat tables, everything about the indoor experience is quite lovely. Every lamp hangs from the ceiling in a stained glass fixture, each of which appears to be unique. Lighting is also quite adequate yet soft.
The furniture is quite tasteful. The styling is old but very fresh. It's honest to it's location but very clean and alive feeling.
Food was alright/pretty good. I might give this place 3 stars if it weren't for the lovely interior. No complaints not nothing to write home about. Maybe skip the calamari if you're on the fence about it. It's nothing special. The salad feels a little cheap but the sandwich looked much nicer.
Probably one of the nicer spots in old Sacramento!
A bit of nostalgia within one of the historical buildings on the waterfront. Food was delicious with nice presentation and the prices are reasonable for the amount of food served. Wait staff were very cordial. It wasn't very busy and I could enjoy the window view. Would highly recommend a visit.
Consistently great vegetarian items:
1st trip
+ Garden omelette - the flavors of the vegetables came through in a fluffy yet hearty omelette oozing with cheese. Rare is the place that provides plenty for seconds and delivers on flavor.
+ Thirst quenching iced tea - it'll work with the air conditioner to resuscitate you from the scorching Sacramento heat!
+ Fat's famous banana cream pie - fresh slices of sweet bananas in custard, cream whipped light, and crisp crust to complete the best banana cream pie ever! They don't overcompensate with sugar, which low quality banana cream pie makers do.
2nd trip
+ Fat's famous banana cream pie - need I say more.
3rd trip
+ Angel hair pesto - they had aromatic basil, sharp parmesan, rich pine nuts in every crevasse of the angel hair pasta. Fresh, sweet cherry tomatoes punctuated the bites between sips of refreshing tea as we soaked up the Old Sacramento scene.
+ Carrot soup - thick savory carrot with little chunks and a small punch at the end. I dream of trying their curry lentil soup.
+ Thirst quenching iced tea - summer quencher.
Great food in this historic looking place. Beautiful stained glass and tin ceilings. Everyone raved about the food!
The biggest selling point is how gorgeous the building is. The windows are huge, the bar is grand, the tin ceiling has a big stained glass feature, and the stained glass lamps fit right in. The grilled chicken sandwich was very good, as were the normal fries and sweet potato fries. I wish there were some snacks on the happy hour menu!
My daughter and i had lunch here while shopping in Old Sacramento. The food was great, good service. Very polite and clean.
It's a great place to grab something to eat and drink. I mostly went there for their bar. Looks very old school from both inside and outside.
Ecclectic burger joint with a great atmosphere, a beautiful old school interior, good food and service.
Yummy specialty of the day burgers .. warm ambient .. friendly staff...
Service was AMAZING, food was absolutely WONDERFUL, my family and I had a great time enjoying our lunch. We all had different things on their menu, and it was so so good.
