Had a great experience here. Service was not too overbearing, offered great informed advice when asked between two meals and was very accommodating and friendly throughout the meal. The food was excellent! Drinks were great too. Amazing array of both vegan and vegetarian options. Very impressed by this place.
This place is wonderful. It was like an oasis from the hot weather. We ate lunch, a group of 4... a couple of Filipino girls who were here for culinary training at Squaw valley, myself(Sous Chef, and trained in the art). We wanted to eat something delicious and yet within the budget... this place not only accomplished those traits, but it also was welcoming and friendly and fun. We decided to share our food, we orders Parmesan fries as an appetizer, it came with black truffle aïoli(which I admit was a great touch on the spelling) which was absolutely delicious. You can also get different styles of small plates like mussels, roasted asparagus, and marinated olives straight from California, and some delicious looking salads. But I needed something more than just a salad or a sandwich, especially after a day of taking in the sites! So the girls ordered a chicken sandwich that was supposed to be cut in half, but they were so nice enough to cut it into quarters! Ok I work in the industry and that is a rockstar move right there. That means that the waiter was relaying and communicating with the chefs about the table. They also went for the spaghetti and meatballs! Which were huge; at least baseball sized. And the sauce was sweet and yet hearty. And the fiancé and I went for the cioppino, and I must say it was delightful. The bread and croutons were delicious when dipped into the flavorful sauce! And while I went to sneak in to pay the check and to wash my hands, the woman of my dreams ordered a delicious chocolate cake that had a light dollop of whipped cream with crunchy toffee bits. Drizzled with chocolate sauce and a raspberry cooli. So decadent. And don’t forget to tip in cash!!!! Taxation is theft. Overall it was an amazing experience. Oh and my cocktail was the red sangria, and a true one that was light and yet flavorful. Thanks for reading!
This is a really nice place to eat in the evening! They got either a nice patio or a dining room you could eat in! The service was really nice and pretty relaxed! The atmosphere was very relaxing, especially with the nice dark wood ceiling and candle lights. The light bulbs stringing around might have been a little to excessive, but the 2 small fountains is what really made the difference! For starters, i ordered the zucchini chips which were a pretty healthy alternative to regular chips! I had the burger for the main entree and it was cooked pretty well and everything from the bun to the lettuce felt fresh and crisp! The fries were salted and seasoned as well! I would come back here if i was in the Sacramento area for dinner! Hopefully they'll keep up their really good service and freshen up the menu!
Dined here a little over a year ago with a group a fantastic woman on a guided food tour. Beautiful inside location, also offers outside patio seating. The menu was very unique and the food was very exotic with the presentation. And delicious! Is a place that we were told many famous people have visited over the years.
Simple one page menu plus daily special dishes using farm-to-fork sourced ingredients in well presented dishes amply portioned. Unique frozen vanilla pudding sandwiched between rectangle crisp pastry drizzled with salted caramel plus side of fresh banana and excellent coffee is worth a trip in itself! [1st review '19-8-5]
Really nice vibe and superb service. The dishes I had were top notch: fritto misto was an interesting fried treat and port braised short ribs were the best I’ve ever had, generously portioned, and served very hot, which I like. A look around other tables revealed pretty good looking dishes. Service by Kerry, and really everyone, was attentive and genuine. Would definitely return.
If you want to surprise anyone for a nice dinner. This is the place. Very nice atmosphere. Music is great. Went there during first week of Jan. The outdoors area can be very cozy and warm. Expect to pay more than you are used to. This could easily be a place for a nice romantic dinner.
Edit (09/14/21 ) Sadly due Covid19 they closed :(
Wow! Awesome food, great service. Even had a salad that was grown at a local school. The desserts, we ordered two... were a perfect ending to a total dining experience.
Really nice atmosphere, great sangria, (scotch) pours were on small side, food was good but not spectacular, on the more expensive side. I would recommend this place is you want a consistent, safe, comfortable meal with friends or coworkers.
Dining here before or after going to a local play or concert is a good bet. Bring an appetite because portions ate generous (I saw many diners taking food home, though our table had no problem cleaning all our plates, savoring the great food.) Lucca is one of several restaurants near the Sacramento Theatre complex which will give attendees to a performance a 10% discount on food. Just present your same day tickets to your polite server and you're in!
