Had to give it a go as we not only love burgers (especially non-chains) but also enjoy watching D.D.&D.
Had an elk burger, fries and a shake. The fries and shake were pretty good. Unfortunately the burger was very dry. Now I know elk , deer and other misc game are very lean. However, this doesn't have to guarantee a dry burger. Either cut in a whack of fat or cook it a bit less than well done (killed again). Would give it higher marks if the burger wasn't so dry.
Gotta stop here. I have been stoping here on my way through town for over 30 years. My parents would take me there when I was a kid. Make sure you ask for the old fashion fries. They still serve them but only on request.
Do it!. So good!!! Try the buffalo burger with cheese, fries, and of course- mass amounts of fry sauce. Delicious- worth blowing the diet for. Been here on my last 2 business trips and will definitely be back. A lime rickey isn't something you can find easily outside of the west- splurge on one of those too :)
Love the burger bar. I get the Big Ben with cheese. It comes with fries. Then I get a shake. The bun melts in your mouth. Worth the drive.
Rockin'!. Stopped at Burger Bar, coming into SLC from vacation. It's a walk-up only place, where you order at the window and then wait for them to call your number over the loud speaker. Between the two of us we got a veggie burger, onion rings, chicken tenders, french fries and a strawberry-flavored yogurt milkshake (which they have as an option in addition to ice cream-based milkshakes). Stopped here to mark a DDD place off our bucket list.
Everything was off the chart Fantastic except the veggie burger (which was decent, not stellar). The rings, ff, tenders, and shake were awesome and every bit DDD worthy.
Will definitely be back when vaca travels take us through Roy, UT again. You can count on it.
Great Food. The Burger Bar reminded me of a Mom and Pop place back home in GA called the Dairy Spot!
Burger was awesome and a ton of onion rings! The sauce was something of a familiar taste I made as a kid combining mayo and ketchup, but is great on anything!
I will go back again, and again!
The Big Ben was great. Its.... The Big Ben burger was great. Its a simple burger with fry sauce and it tasted great and fries were really greasy which I didn't not like. Its just to bad that its so far away from where I live.
They have some of the best burgers in town. It's made fresh when ordered and the employees treat you right. They have awsome shakes as well. They may be a little more pricey than all the other burger joints but its money well spent.
Brings back memories.... I remember hitting this place back in the early '80s...it was great then, and I'm sure it's still good now.
Grew up in Ogden, and there were many times (in high school) we'd take an 'extended' lunch to drive out to Roy for a Big Ben.
Burger Bar has always ranked high on the list, along with Kirt's (North Ogden), Warren's (Riverdale) and a little place at 2nd and Harrison (Ogden) that sold the 'YA Burger"......
Great burger the bun makes the burger. Shakes are thick and packed with flavor crispy and delicious fries and rings
First time here and WOW! 10/10! We have been wanting to try their exotic meat of the month, and we went in when it was Yak.
First impression: that's a huge
YAK burger (cooked to perfection)! You could easily share it with someone. I love the nostalgic feeling I got from being here and looking at their menu. It honestly has a little hit for everyone. You can find anything from shakes to onion rings to fish. And of course, their "exotic meat of the month"
We went in on a Friday afternoon, and it was a bit busy, but the staff was wonderful and had great recommendations for us to try.
For those of you visiting Hill AFB, this is only 5-8 minutes away.
I can't wait to come back again and try more items from their menu.
On the way to North Ogden we stopped off in Roy to visit #BurgerBar since 1956 it’s been a institution, that is over 60 years! It’s a walk up window and wait, which I find fun. They are known for their unique meat burgers like #elk #buffalo #alligator etc. it was also featured on #dinersDriveInsandDives so of course I had to visit. I went with the #BigBenSeaBurger it was ok. Good #tartarsauce but just a standard fish burger. The thing that made the fish burger memorable was the House made bun. Yes they bake their own buns which I appreciated. Mum got a cheeseburger with the house made bun baked daily. We split a couple of great sides. They hand make their own #onionrings and #deepFriedMushrooms Both were excellent. They have a great batter, and came out hot and crispy. The sides were even great a couple days later as warmed up leftovers, Which is a rarity for diner food. The French fries were fresh, crispy and good. All the sides came with plenty of Fry Sauce. We also enjoyed soft serve shakes, Which were a relief on a very hot day. The cup kept the shakes cold for several hours. They have many flavor choices, I went with the fresh Lime. Next time I’ll need to try the more exotic meat to go with the great onion rings and mushrooms. I will be happy to return as I love old time famous places like this.
My family loves going to the burger bar. We love that they have exotic meats every month.
Really wanted to like this place but ended up with a cold big ben cheese burger, the buns too big for the patty and it was just cold. The fries were really good. All the employees are super nice!
Food was great and they give you so much of it (I got a Ben double cheeseburger and a BBQ pulled pork meal with a Dr. Pepper ice cream float). The employees actually looked like the liked working there. They were also friendly and upbeat. This place is really popular and a great place for those who have trucks and want to hangout or have a picnic. It's on a very big lot and, so has a lot of room for people to stick around and hang out without being in each others way (unlike at Crown Burger). Definitely deserves the popularity.
One of the best burgers I have had. They make their own buns which is a major reason the burger tastes so good. The deep fried mushrooms were amazing as was the fries and milkshakes. This is my new favorite burger joint.
It was a busy place but the fish and the shakes were delicious. My boyfriend loved his corn dog and grilled cheese and my roommate loved his steak sandwich. But the fries were just okay, Im sorry to say. I don't know if they were cold, overcooked, but just okay. The shakes are excellent though!! Eating peppermint is like the holidays with my grandparents again, and they have passed away. Thanks for making the holiday season happy and brighter
We lived in Roy for 4 years and finally went here for lunch. It is the bomb. Definitely check it out. The burgers, fries, and shakes are amazing. Friendly and quick service. This place is always busy. Now we know why!!
Best burger you’ll ever have, get the Big Ben. And no, I’ve never been outside of Utah, I’ve had just about every burger in every country lol, and this is the best one I’ve ever had
First visit and I am already planning on being back. I was in Ogden for work and decided to stop by for lunch before going home.
I got the Cheese Burger Ben and it was one of the best burgers I have had in Utah. They made the buns homemade, and they were delicious!
There is a patio area to sit and stay with your food. Very clean.
I look forward to going again when I am close by!
