Fantastic food and quaint atmosphere. A smaller restaurant that serves higher than normal quality foods. Service is pretty good and the kitchen is great. We hardly waited before our food was being served. The galbi dolsot bibimbap is fantastic. The stone bowls are steaming hot and you can still hear the rice cooking. The kimchi jjigae is just as good. I'm hooked on their kimchi pancakes and can't wait to go back.
💰: $20-30 per person
🍲: Kimichi pancake is super good. Recommend for sharing. Love the fish cake in the Toppoki. Bimbimbap is pretty mediocre. Won’t recommend.
💁: Staff is pretty occupied and not really responsive during the peak hours.
This is my favorite Korean restaurant!
I love ordering the veggie pancake with combo 04 (grilled mackerel with soybean stew) which has become my comfort food. The food comes quickly and tastes very fresh. The staff is friendly and always makes sure I have everything that I need.
Though the location is a little hidden, it is worth the journey!
This is a great Korean comfort food spot. Highly rated and food here is on point. I stopped by recently with some friends. I made reservations via Yelp and called the restaurant as well to confirm. We ordered everything from the bossam, bulgogi dolsot bibimbap, budae jiggae, mul naengmyeon and the tofu samgyupsal kimchi. The banchan was on point as well. I enjoyed everything that I hate here. The flavors, seasonings, and textures were amazing. The bibimbap crispy rice with fresh vegetables and meats were perfect. The jiggae had plenty of spam, ramen and the broth was really rich. Save some room for the cold noodles as well. Meats were thinly sliced. The addition of some vinegar and mustard added some amazing flavor to the popular comfort dish. Overall, Mahdang had some of the best Korean comfort dishes I've ever had. Portion sizes and prices are reasonable. Between the 6 of us the 5 entrees were perfect. We left stuffed and I'll definitely be back to try their pancake and other soups.
I was in shock that there was no rice included in Bossam, and there were no side dishes that came with it.
The taste & and amount of Bossam was great, and it was very well cooked. I just wish they had side dishes with it and included rice with it.
The extra rice was $2.5 and ordered 2 of them. The amount of rice felt so little.

The food was excellent and so was the service. We loved absolutely everything about this restaurant, the food is amazingly made, the spice was exquisite, the banchan incredible. The sizes of the options were spot-on, we left feeling just the right amount of full. Will definitely return!
This place is pretty popular so we wanted to give it a try. I like the vibe inside. The service is also accomodating. My fave is their teokbokki! Hehehe.
I’ve been going here for two years now and this place is amazing. Such great variety of food, delicious appetizers, soups, main dishes. everything really is fantastic. The staff are so sweet and so caring. You feel like you are family to them when you eat with them. My fiancé and I always leave with happy tummies!!:)
We had the most delicious dinner with the veggie pancake, fried dumplings and rice pots. Friendly service and delicious Korean food. It can get very busy so make a reservation.
It's a hidden gem of Korean restaurants in the area! Foods are really great!
