Chat Noir is a French Tea restaurant in Rockville Centre, NY. I have visited other restaurants in the area and Chat Noir was on my bucket list of places to try. I walked into Chat Noir to enjoy some “Tea Service”, which includes a pot of tea of your choice (many varieties), finger sandwiches, pastries and scones for $22.75 per person. I also added a delicious bowl of French Onion soup to my party.
A unique little tea shop great for lunch with friends. Delicious food served on lace tablecloths and lovely tea cups!
What an amazing place. A bit of old school at this fine and longstanding restaurant. I've been coming here for several years and the owner Melissa has always treated me and my family like family. The food is outstanding and the atmosphere is special. The old school music sets the tone and and the European decor sets the table. No TVs as it should be and the highlight was going there for my birthday and Melissa was beyoubd hospitable. Run don't walk to this outstanding venue .
It is an amazing place celebrating a Tea Party Ladies Luncheon. We added extra flowers for the lushness we desired. From the scones to the personalized menus, this place has created a very successful business paradigm. If you are not renting the private room which they have, be aware that they will hold your cake earlier, but any additional items like the added florals had to be brought in 15 minutes prior to your table set up. I'm definitely having future events here as it is such a lovely French interior. They offer different cost levels with different perimeters. Parking is on the street, and I definitely would suggest getting the parking app because I was able to park without stress for over 3 hours for less than $4. Compared to Manhattan a BARGAIN! Thank you for a lovely way for us to celebrate a wonderful occasion.
Delicious food! We discovered this place when we participated in Restaurant Crawl (organized by RVC lion club), and we finally got time to try it out. Love my linguine and fried calamari.
What a truly beautiful Tea Room! You walk into this venue, and the ambiance and its decor embraces and welcomes you. The servers accommodate with a smile and are very cordial. Now, the food...what a delicious bite with a plethora of mouthwatering choices. This venue is worth visiting with "special" friends. It gives you a chance to catch up, share some laughs and "spill the tea"!

We both had the French onion soup to begin with, and it was delightful! My husband had the spinach salad, and I had the shrimp salad. The portions were big... but I ate the whole thing!😄 We love Chat Noir, and we highly recommend it. The only thing I'd say is that service is a liiiiittle bit on the slower side, but it's such a cute, delicious place, and the Teas are excellent! We will definitely be back!
If you ever want to have a bridal shower or a baby shower this is your perfect choice. All the food was excellent with a huge selection_
- the desserts are to die for and the scones are out of this world. If I could I would eat brunch there every single day!! The staff and owner did such an amazing job for my future daughter-in-law's bridal shower. I can't say enough about the service and the food definitely worthwhile! Yummy!!
My daughter and I had a nice tea and scone break from Christmas shopping last night. Melissa, the owner, could not have been more accommodating. Even though dinner service had ended, it was no problem to serve us tea. My new favorite place to chill.
Let's start by saying that from the outside this place looks very unassuming but as soon as you walk in you feel like you have stepped in an authentic French restaurant. From the moment you walk in this becomes an experience. Best part is that they bring you a bread and cake basket! Those cakes were sooo delicious I ended up ordering a salad after I devoured them and I still could not finish my salad, which was so good. Let's talk service, one of the best services I have received from Rockville Center, very friendly, welcoming, attentive. My husband enjoyed his Chicken Marsalla, it was rich and creamy, it was too rich for my taste, but it was good. We both enjoyed the Crab Cakes! Creme brulee was perfect! This was a very unique experience, I highly recommend it, I felt I was having dinner in Europe.
The dinner was excellent..but the staff needs to be upgraded. In serving...for dessert..tablespoons were dropped in middle of table...the cigarette smell from one was not peasant and the touchy feeling going on in plain view between 2 staffmembers who thought they were being coy was unprofessional...
Amazing experience here!! We hosted a friends bridal shower here. The tea service is reasonable priced- $27/pp and consists of the most amazing scones I’ve ever had in my life in a variety of flavors- with a small but delicious serving of clotted cream and jam (wish they had lemon curd too), some finger sandwiches (we had egg salad, tuna- amazing! Never had tuna like this, and cucumber. Lasts, a few various desserts. There is a laundry list of tea flavors to chose from and they are delectable.
Best of all- the staff was so friendly, kind, and patient. Amazing experience. Will surely make the trip out to have those scones again.
