I love this restaurant. Excellent food and service. (The best chicken yakitori appetizer I have had!) It is usually not very busy, which I also like. A hidden gem.

A1 is our new favorite sushi restaurant. We have always enjoyed Shio, Domo, and Moko in Portsmouth but only recently discovered A1. We have been back for a total of 3 visits and have been impressed every time. The sushi has always been fresh, tasty, and impeccably made. The hibachi entrees are equally delicious and the generous portions can easily be shared. The prices are great, and our server has always been incredibly friendly and perfectly attentive. The only thing that has detracted from our experience has been the entitled attitude of other guests, so please enjoy this place without behaving like a knob towards the staff.
