Awesome food .I recommend this place for anybody that likes Soul food

Updated (5/8/21). Must have new owners, they take cash only, they will tell you their credit card machine is down. They have the take out-drive up service. You can call ahead of time to order or you can pull up in the parking lot and place an order too. I love the Red Beans and Rice, the Yams, the Greens, the Lima bean and the Fish is my favorite. I truly didn't care for the wings or their sauce on the wings. They waitress is so nice, Please leave a tip. The line will be busy during peak hours but keep trying you will get through. They still have one waitress who take the orders and serve too.
Update (9/5/18) . I went there 5 times since my first review. I am so disappointed in the service now. Recently my aunt and myself was there for "1" hour and have not received our meals. We walked out. They have new waitresses and they are slow as "hell". I give them 5 stars on the food. Family owned. My favorite waitress is Janelle. She's pleasant and lovable. When Uncle Moe is present he do greet his customer. I used the group dinning ares when my family came to visit, it was nice to have all of us in a private area. When its crowed it can be a little slower. They also provides catering Service too. The have take out and enough parking space. I see all type of race there. This is a community restaurant.

Fell in love with this community staple. Good food, owners onsite to greet you. Food has been great each time, I've been there. I'm now adding them to my regular rotation of restaurants. The fried haddock , ribs, and smothered pork chops were all excellent.

So being a trucker and from the north (ct) best I've had on the road!!! Hands down!!! And since I've been trying not to eat pork or beef, they had turkey bacon and sausage, that was amazing!!! Not really feeling the pancakes but I'm not dropping one star.. Now if the place that loading keeping taking this load to get me a door, I'm coming back for dinner lol thanks again it was the best guys keep up the good work!!

The staff was so welcoming great spot for comfort food. Not a lot of beef options on their menu.The the oxtails that I had were great I had them on a bed of rice with two sides nice tender well-seasoned. Would I go back yes if they add more beef to their menu being that I don't eat pork there was not much of an option for me to choose from.

The food is awesome! I've visited 4 times in less than 2 weeks. Smothered Pork chops: scrumptious! BBQ Brisket: Delicious! I spend $30 to $50 every time I go, as I buy extra for family and friends to try and enjoy (and they do)! One problem; I was a waitress for 20+ years, and I must say tbe waitresses are all over the place! They start taking a 'take-out' order and jump to the next before completion of the first. They continuously apologize for making you wait but you stand in line 15, 20 minutes before you finish giving your order. The frustration of trying to complete an order is overwhelming. They really need some training! I actually waited 14 minutes for a cup of coffee. I will STILL go for the food but will try calling in the order next time. Lets see how that goes. The food is worth waiting for!

Love the home feel. Love the down to earth service. Love the great tasting soul food. So many times a lot of Soul Food Restaurants put too much salt in/on the food, Unkl Moe's does not but still maintains an authentic southern taste and feel. The server that took care of us, who is new was very sweet and attentive.

The food is delicious if you can catch them open or they don't run out of things. I've gone 3 times and I've been happy each time. The chicken wings are, I didn't care much for the ribs but my friend enjoyed them. The YAMS baby, was to die for. The green were good and so was the Mac. It's important to check their website because they have weird hours and menu items are not offered daily and is on a weekday/weekend this is served kind of schedule.
The parking is also not that great. There's a parking lot but it's not very big and it doesn't have clearly defined spaces but people make it work. It's a hole in the wall that can be difficult to spot so I would also pay attention while you're driving there if you never been.
The people are nice and work hard and I always enjoy that. I just wish service was a lil quicker.
