Phillips European

Nice local place! We were staying for a sports tournament and visited with kids for a family dinner. The staff was very accommodating with the substitutions and very attentive. Food was good! We didn't get to try their beautiful deserts (there was a gorgeous display of all kinds of cakes, pastries and cookies), but we were too full. I would go back and recommend!

Service couldn't have been better. Went back the following night to try other delicious food. Desserts were divine, plenty for chocoholics and non chocolate lovers. Atmosphere was upscale and relaxed, prices moderate. A big thank you to our waitress who sent us on our journey home with the most delicious giant sized cookies I ever had!

I can't get enough of this place. A unique and nostalgic vibe, their food is delicious and their bakery is top notch. My favorite is the Thai chicken... I've gone here for many years. Especially when I need a break or a little treat, I come here with my best friend for some tea and tort. The Philips European tort "cake bar" was a dream at my summer wedding reception! By far the most delicious wedding desserts and more reasonably priced than any traditional wedding cake.

When you enter, you get to see the best part of dinner in the multiple display cases of desserts. Choose from cakes, pies, tortes, creme brulee, chocolate mousse, ice cream, or any combination of the above. Then be seated for a lovely evening, surrounded by families celebrating momentous occasions and couples enjoying tender moments. The phrase "hidden gem" applies since I actually skipped this little place a year ago in favor of a larger restaurant. My mistake, and I'll not make it again. Other Google reviews convinced me to give it a try, so I'm paying it forward for others here. I brought a slice of their deep dish pecan pie to a friend, and he thoroughly enjoyed it, nearly as much as I enjoyed my flourless chocolate mousse torte, I might guess. Oh, yes, they also serve delicious dinners. I had the evening's special, which was a generous serving of perfectly cooked chicken and scallops in a rich cream sauce, with steamed veggies and a choice of starch. The brown rice was a perfect choice. If you're staying in the Courtyard by Marriott Rochester/Brighton, definitely walk across the parking lot to Phillips European. You'll be so glad you did.

I think this is on the the most amazing place to eat if you want upscale atmosphere and food with great service and very reasonable prices. First, they have tablecloths, the space is adorable, welcoming and warm, the staff are helpful, kind and do a great job, the food is honestly done very well. With 7 people, every single item/meal was excellent. I think this place is rare and reminds me of the way restaurants used to show up for their patrons. The desserts that are shown in the case are beyond decadent, fresh and mouth watering. We never leave without splitting a dessert. They have an entire section of vegetarian options. This is top of my list for eats in Rochester NY
