Absolutely love the food. I suppose they could up the salt and spices a bit, but that's me. The fact you always get your food in a to-go configuration with the option to dine at an available table is genius. Most of the time I'm grabbing lunch if I'm doing fieldwork in the area, so it's very convenient.

Small, family run. Hole-in-the-wall type place - nothing fancy. But the food is soooo good. I would give the food more than 5 stars if I could. Easily one of the best local Mediterranean restaurants. I love how they have the meat cooking on the rotating spit and it's shaved off right after you order.

Cedar is essentially a takeout place with places to sit if you feel like eating in. I took what a big chance for me: ordering a gyro. When I was in college, there was a place (that is now closed...) that made the best gyros I've ever eaten - and every gyro I've ever eaten since has been compared to those gyros and found lacking, even disappointing. I've purposely avoid ordering one for years out of fear it would just be another unenjoyable experience. Until now! Juicy, tender, well-seasoned lamb, tomatoes at their peak, a feta cheese sauce with some fresh and some pickled veggies. The best part was the fresh pita bread that was lightly toasted.

I have been coming here for lunch about once or twice a week. I get either the shawarma pita or plate. The food is amazing. I love coming here. Bread is always hot and fresh. If you get a pita, they load it with meat and it's always ready in a couple minutes. If you're looking for authentic Lebanese cuisine, this place does not disappoint! Their fresh, homemade pita bread is the best you will ever have. This is our fav Mediterranean restaurant in Rochester. Their homemade hummus is really good too. Humble atmosphere, just a few tables, but their food is delicious and authentic. I'm just crazy about their grilled chicken and "Combo" salad plate. I get it almost once a week. Sooo good.
