We had a fabulous dinner at Char. Oysters were delicious! Filet Mignon was tender enough to cut with a fork, cooked to perfection, and delectable with the blue cheese and bacon sauce! The add-on of crab was a great choice - the crab was scrumptious! ! Cabernet was also perfect!We let them know we were celebrating my birthday and our anniversary. Every server made a point to wish us a happy birthday and anniversary - even the young woman filling our water glasses. Nice touch! And the complimentary flourless chocolate cake, ice cream, whipped cream AND champaign was the proverbial guilding of the lilly!! We would highly recommend Char. Cannot think of one thing that would have made the evening more enjoyable.
Best meal I've eaten out in Rochester in a long time... Each course was great! The very fresh tasting West Philly sushi roll, the chef's daily fresh pasta selection(parpadelle with a tender braised rabbit ragu*), the perfectly cooked mid rare wood fire grilled Delmonico with a nice smokey char complemented by the melted compound blue cheese & bacon butter and caramelized onions**, all the way to the smoked chocolate ganache mouse with bacon & maple walnut enfused ice cream for dessert...well done Chefs!!�...Will definitely be back.
Food and service great. Had roasted chicken with roasted fruit and vegetables, cooked perfectly. Tasted amazing.
Very good food. Pricy for Rochester. Oddly, all 3 steaks were served overcooked. To Char's credit, they were replaced with alacrity and courtesy. Second set of steaks were delicious. Yummy sides.

Phenomenal restaurant! My partner and I enjoyed our dinner, and the desserts were fantastic (highly recommend the lemon cake). But what I really can’t over-emphasize is how amazing the service was. We were helped by several people, and they were all just so incredibly warm, kind, and thoughtful. So attentive and it was obvious to us that they really cared. We went back for breakfast the next day, and I had one of the most amazing waffle dishes of my life (and again, the service was spectacular!).
This was one of the best steakhouse experiences I’ve had in a long time! We went for our wedding dinner and it was great. They were very nice, super helpful, and treated us amazing. They even brought out extra stuff for us which was so nice and they didn’t have to! Our waitress Gleyce and her assistant waitress were super great to us and so professional and kind! We didn’t get any appetizers but we both got the NY Strip, mine was medium rare + and my wife’s was rare. They came out amazing and not a lot of places know about MR+ so I was pleasantly surprised! My wife got the Bernaise sauce with her steak, she didn’t really like it and neither did I, but the house steak sauce was amazing so we recommend that, however I didn’t use it since the steaks already were so juicy and tender and flavorful! We also got the mac n cheese, Brussels sprouts, and truffle fries and they were all so delicious! For desert I asked if they had cheesecake and she said no, so I got ice cream and my wife got the crème brûlée. When they brought it out she also brought cheesecake which was so nice because she was able to get some for me that they had free of charge. It was all delicious. They also had a coat check which was nice. Overall this was an amazing experience and I hope they all get the recognition they deserve. I would love to come again!
Stopped in for a cocktail to celebrate my Mom’s birthday and had a nice time. John is a great bartender and made me a nice violet cocktail.
Will definitely be back on our next trip to have lunch or dinner.
This steakhouse restaurant in the strathallan hotel easily deserves five stars in the food quality. We room service ordered us a cowboy ribeye for 2 which was excellent. And some purée potatoes, which were super. They charred corn was out so we substituted for the spinach dip, which was heavy with dill and cream..so I liked it, but my wife didn’t. The max n cheese was also too fancy for our 2 year old, but I tried it myself and she has terrible taste in food since it was much better than her favorite Kraft microwave junk.
Love the Vibe. The bartenders are great! The food is good, and the locals who hang out there are a vibe, too. My kind of place.
Great food and phenomenal service from our server Sam. There was a little bit of a wait at the door, even though we had reservations, and it was a bit loud, but all in all it was a great experience and we will absolutely be coming back.

Had a fabulous dinner here...we had ribeye, filet mignon and the lamb....all of the plates were exquisitely prepared and perfectly seasoned.
My only complaint is that the bar was unable to prepare the first two cocktails we ordered that were on their cocktail menu... 🤷♂️
Anyway, Amy profusely apologized and offered some alternate suggestions. Servcie was top notch.
The food was absolutely excellent. Someone in the kitchen knows how to cook salmon perfectly. Joe the bartender is exactly the type of bartender you would hope for, when you're traveling alone for business- the most hospitable I've ever met. And not to mention the drink creations, are fantastic.
I was in town for work and stayed at the Double Tree. This restaurant was extremely convenient for breakfast every morning. I ordered off the menu every day, but the buffet is reasonably priced at $20. The selection looked good. I enjoyed the eggs and potatoes each morning. The staff is wonderful. 11/10 recommend.
