Review Restaurant Fiorella - Rochester

We didn’t have a reservation and did not want to wait an estimated hour so we left. The hostess ran after us and apologized for the confusion. I appreciated that as she did not have to chase after us as we were already so far from the restaurant. We were seated at the bar. This really sucks when you have a bag or purse and have to hold it in your lap and if you’re seated next to the checkout iPad, it’s a high traffic area. Other than that, the local buzz and ambiance is nice. We ordered the calamari, chicken cutlet and greens, and sausage and polenta. The calamari was okay, the squid bodies were crispy and the typical round slices were hit or miss. The chicken cutlet was the star of the show. Lightly battered, seasoned well, and you can taste the butter it was fried in, which was extremely delightful. It was a very light dish. The sausage and polenta was meh. The shishito peppers and polenta were very tasty, but overshadowed by the pool of oil from the sausages making it difficult to process.

Fiorella is a great restaurant by all standards. Their pizza is my absolute favorite. The dough is the best dough, and they have housemade banana peppers which are 10/10. The atmosphere when dining in is always amazing as is the service. We recently ordered a pizza to go, when we received the pizza it was made incorrectly and we went back in to correct. They proceeded to apologize and make a new pizza completely free of charge.

Loved Fiorella! Our experience was incredible! Service was polite and efficient during our visit. Loved the atmosphere which featured tasteful Italian-related decor in a comfortable, candlelit dining area. The menu was simple but filled with several delicious options at a reasonable price point for quality. My margherita pizza was cooked perfectly and so tasty despite its simple ingredients. Will definitely be back!

A very unique and pleasant atmosphere. I loved the food and the options available were all very thoughtfully crafted and designed. So much so that you are actually not allowed to substitute different sauces with different pastas! The chicken cutlet is an otherworldly experience. Definitely try it first! I highly recommend this place for any group gathering! The options were well priced in my opinion.

Per usual everything was absolutely incredible! The chicken cutlet is bar far THE BEST chicken cutlet around. The cacio e pepe is also delicious and cheesy. The atmosphere is cozy and intimate and the service is also exceptional. This restaurant never disappoints!!

We absolutely love Fiorella, even living in MA now - it's definitely a must visit when we are in Rochester. The service has always been stellar . The food delicious, the best pizza crust I've ever had - greens to die for, pasta delicious. Fav's for us are the greens, Margherita pizza, any of the pastas. It's a great! vibe, so fun! And! we actually like eating at the bar. The only negative - reservations are a must, it really is that popular. Thank you Fiorella for all the wonderful memories, looking forward to more in the future!

We wanted to dine in but waitress said fully reserved even though it was table outside, so we take out. Pizza was really delicious as we used to eat in Napoli.

I come from an italian-american family. We have family in Rome that we visit often. I've eaten a lot of italian food. Fiorella's is great. It's really good. Excellent. The pasta is fresh, cooked al dente. The polenta dish was fantastic. The pizza is delicious, great dough. Eat here. Be sure to make a reservation.

The food is 10/5 and the service is fantastic. One star off the atmosphere because it gets a little loud, but that tiny gripe is insignificant given the total experience. One of Rochester’s best.

Located inside the farmers market this place has a semi causal feel but serves food as if was a super classy Italian restaurant. I wouldn’t eat outside as you are basically sitting in a dirty parking lot but inside is really nice. Pizza was top notch and was well balanced and had a lot of complex flavors. Homage gnocchi was great on the texture but lacking in flavor. Prices are a bit high but service was great and it was a fun experience. Wednesday’s you can bring your own bottle of wine for free.

We haven't been to Fiorella in a few years and that's a bad move on our part. We reserved a table outside on a beautiful evening and had a wonderful meal. We loved it! Started with our go-to appetizer of fried calamari. Yum! My partner had the Mafaldine pasta with mushrooms, yellow and zucchini squash, and spinach in a deep flavored sauce. "Magnificent". I have been wanting to try the Cacio e Pepe and it was amazing. Our server Marco was perfectly attentive without being smothering. Matched with a night of perfect weather and bottle of Pinot Grigio... how can you go wrong?

My favorite restaurant in Rochester. Anytime someone asks for "good Italian," this is where I send them. Everything is homemade and fresh. They have the BEST chicken cutlets!

Yum yum yum !!! There is a reason that lost reservations are booked for this place ! Food is fresh and amazing , can’t go wrong with any choices on the menu. Seating inside can be loud for such a small space but did not take away from the experience.

Coming in from the west coast for a wedding, we wanted to go out to try a few Italian places in New York while we were here. Fortunately for us, we landed on Fiorella's. Fortunately for them, we were hungry! We started with their calamari appetizer which featured lightly breaded and crispy calamari mixed with sliced banana peppers served with spicy marinara. Absolutely delicious- peppers brought an amazing tang to the calamari and the marinara was superb. We then moved to the local tomato, Peach, and Buffalo Mozzarella salad which was honestly one of the finest salads I've ever had. Served over arugula with a few strands of basil mixed in for good luck, the salad was simply divine as everything produce-wise is in peak form right now. The peaches added incredible sweetness and depth, while the tomato mixture brought every aspect of tomato greatness front and center. The Mozzarella felt like sublime excess. The gnocchi special served with crushed San marzano tomatoes, fresh ricotta cheese, basil, and Parmigiano reggiano cheese was incredible. Soft, pillowy gnocchi coated perfectly with a rich yet light tomato sauce that clung to each piece. I will dream about this gnocchi. Our experience was sensational and we highly, highly recommend this restaurant. Good luck getting a table if you don't have a reservation on a Friday or Saturday- we strolled in at 545 and couldn't get a table until 815. The bar sufficed just fine :-)

Service was the highlight for our visit. The staff were friendly, accommodating, and knowledgeable. Plus, the kitchen wasted no time! We had our food quick, and everything was correct. However, they don't offer many non-alcoholic drinks. My wife and I don't drink alcohol, and we could either have Mexican Coke or seltzer water. With the rise of non-alcoholic drinks, this selection disappointed us. This may seem minor, but it's a priority for us to feel comfortable. In terms of atmosphere, it was loud and difficult to hear my wife. Most people shouldn't have issues, but I have a hearing issue that makes everything sound jumbled and like white noise when there's too much commotion and competing noises. The location isn't optimal for dampening noise, so sound travels and makes it loud. Given the small size, they put a limit on your stay. This wasn't an issue for us, but it will be an issue if you like to take longer than an hour and a half for dinner.

First time here, and I absolutely loved it! We came for lunch and will be back for dinner. We ordered the Margherita Pizza and roasted eggplant sandwich. Both exceeded our expectations. Plates, silverware, and water were serve yourself, which was fine. Staff was very pleasant. Looking forward to going back very soon.

Client advised to visit after our meeting as they raved about it. Took them up and wow was I impressed. Ordered the pork sandwich and was delicious. They give you a full bottle of water for the table, also have soft drinks and beer. Have to go back and try the pizza as that was also recommended along with the salads. My go to spot when in Rochester from here on in. Huge parking lot right outside their door.
