We just had my husbands birthday party downstairs in the Mahogany and Stone room, it was amazing! We had use of the wine lounge and were able to truly relax and enjoy our night. The food and the service were outstanding...highly recommend!!

Love The Preston House! Beautiful, elegant, classy addition to Riverhead! Jennifer, Brian and Nolan are top notch, always so welcoming and there to meet everyone’s needs. Great food and cocktails! Fun night at the pig roast! Love the open deck and patio area. We will be back again and again!!!

By far the cleanest and best shucked oysters I have had in a LONG time. We ordered the salmon and lamb as our entrée ... EXCELLENT. The lamb was perfectly cooked as well as the salmon. The crispy Brussel sprouts and and potatoes added a tasty charred flair. The sweet potato paired as a perfect side for the lamb. Now lets get to my complicated drink order, an American twist on a caipirinha, our server was so eager to please me :). And it was delish!! They also make a VERY good LI iced tea. So glad we took a chance on this gem.

We chose Preston House Restaurant because it is definitely the high-end hot spot here in Riverhead. Good price to quality ratio. We sat outside with my dog, which was great. The wine menu is well put together and thought out. Every bottle is a good bottle to order with some unique stuff. The summer food menu is enticing. Seafood a plenty. Freshly caught in Montauk fish dishes are the stars here, though my wife's skirt steak was perfect. Tender, melt in your mouth delicious. The quality was there. The freshness of the fluke crudo was firmly present. Taste like they pulled it from the sea today. Soft texture of the fish balanced with crispy puffs and sitting in a citrus liquid. Presentation was just as good as the flavor. Herb crusted tuna was cooked rare (as I should) was fork tender. The herbaceous flavor burst in your mouth but didn't take over the dish, allowing the fish to shine. The tuna combined with the miso braised red cabbage created a beautiful mouth feel. The ginger-carrot puree was smooth and flavorful. Kids liked the real bechemel Mac and cheese. Made me happy when my daughter said she liked this better than Kraft. I apologize that I didn't take pictures of the desserts. The creme brulee cheesecake was outstanding. Dense, creamy cheesecake with a creme brulee hard shell. Some of the best cheesecake I have ever had. Gelato and chocolate cake were great also. An ounce of Glenmorangie Lasanta topped it all off for me. What a great meal! Provided by our server, Steve, who was attentive, not overwhelming and helpful. Hope to see you there when I go back. Cheers!

The atmosphere was very nice and clean very modern which was nice it wasn’t that crowded it was nice and mellow at the time we were there (1:30pm ish 3adults 2 toddler ) the hostess was busy on the phone didn’t try to acknowledge (that’s why there is only four stars)but the bartender stepped over appreciated that since we had too kids. The menu was kinda all together so at first glance you can’t see it properly ( guys maybe you can have a kids section since you are located across from the aquarium) The food was very good nice and fresh we had steak and eggs, roasted chicken and a burger for the main course! However the fries were a little over cooked so there was nothing inside and tender was a little to brown on the outside ! Our server was really nice but the second on keep clearing the table as if she was rushing us to leave lol…

Went here 2 nights in a row it was that good. One of my favorite waiting staffs I've had in a long time. Very friendly and very accommodating. The menu isn't very large but the quality of food is high.

We did the brunch today and it was fabulous. We shared oysters from the west coast, which we never see out here! Perfectly shucked! Husband did the avocado toast with salmon, and I did the eggs Benedict with ham(not your typical english muffin, i think it was home made with love!). Both were excellently executed. Chef is on his game!! The wait staff is superb! They are friendly, attentive, and helpful. Lana was our server and she was great! If you are blessed to have an interaction with Kevin, hopefully he makes you laugh as hard he made us today. Jacob, the host/manager also was super nice and friendly. We will be back again!!

Putting aside the architectural monstrosity that is the hotel out back, the restaurant in the original house is lovely. Service was very attentive. The menu seemed to reflect a conservative, corporate idea of what East End dining should be to appeal to hotel guests. Still, the ingredients were fresh and the food was tasty.

Five good friends got together for dinner at The Preston House. Three of us had already dined there and the others were trying it for the first time. Luckily, we were able to get a table in a private spot on the covered porch. Despite the cold outside the area was nice and warm. We had cocktails, appetizers, a big salad to share and individual dinners. Everyone enjoyed their meals and went home with lunch for the next day. Nicely prepared food served by excellent staff. Steve was our waiter and was assisted by two coworkers. I have to say they really added value to our evening! Accommodating with good senses of humor. Makes me think this is probably a good place to work. And that has become increasingly important to me, as my daughter is studying culinary arts at Johnson and Wales! We will definitely be returning soon as this is the perfect location for those living on the north fork to get together with friends from the south fork!

The tradition of welcoming hospitality can be found any night Lana is at work in the Preston House restaurant. Her warm smile sets the mood, and her knowledge of kitchen, bar, and wine promises a meal rich in flavor and fun. Lana makes any visit to the Preston House a real treat.

We went Restaurant Week and had a fabulous creative dinner. Poached cod fish, beef dish great appetizers were offered too. I asked for when gnocchi would be on the menu and told to call next month when menu is changed. April 2023: We (7) went back again for restaurant week. The chef is fabulous. The appetizer course was generous. I had a strawberry salad - baby spinach, endive, hazelnut and great tasting dressing. A favorite at our table. The cauliflower appetizer was very good too. My entree:The stuffed mushroom agnolotti served in a saffron broth, peas, fava beans, and, snow peas was excellent. Other entrees ordered: skirt steak, poached codfish. Popular was the pork belly grilled chicken. The carrot cake with maple syrup and not too sweet frosting was deemed the best. One had the s’mores dessert that was unbelievable to describe by the eater. Deserves every star. Host Jacob is extremely nice and very helpful.
