Steve's Bagels

First time at Steve's bagels in Ridgefield and it was a pleasant experience, the bagel I ordered came out quick, a nice bacon, egg, cheese, cream cheese, ham, on a everything bagel. Had to get a cinnamon swirl which is great, I do highly suggest you guys add some icing on the top of it, like I did in the photo, makes them look better and taste better! One thing I would suggest is to train the staff to be a bit more upbeat when taking orders. Feels like I'm taking an order from a fast food place where the employees are lifeless, it's already hard to have a welcoming atmosphere when everyone is wearing a mask and you can't see a smile but to also have employees not seem happy to serve the people of the community great food, to not even say, "enjoy" or "see you next time" you can feel that and it's not that pleasant. Restaurant was overall clean I'll give it a 8/10 floor were covered in crumbs

Went there this past week and was greatly disappointed. My coffee was cold. I asked nicely if they could please put it in their microwave. The girl took my cup, and proceed to mumble under her breath, “it’s warm.” It took her 5 minutes to return it to me. It was scalding hot. The same girl said she called out our order when it was ready. Strange how neither my husband nor I heard it. Bagels were nothing to write home about. Mine had veggie cream cheese minus the veggies. Won’t be going back there anytime soon. I definitely wouldn’t recommend this place.

I will preface this by saying that I have high standards for bagels. That said, I really did not enjoy this bagel. It was not nearly proofed enough, meaning it was dense and dry. It was a thin "O" shape. I went just after 7 am and it tasted like a day old bagel. Also, I ordered a toasted scone and a toasted bagel with butter. I got a cold scone and a sliced bagel without any butter. I personally will not go back but to each their own!

If you guys are going to charge $7.25 for an "avocado" BLT then I suggest in the future you actually put some on. I would have gotten a regular BLT or maybe just a bagel with cream cheese if I knew this is what I'd get. Lesson learned here, I love your guys bagels w cream cheese and it was stupid to try and deviate from them. But really $7.25 for that....

If you like hard, dense bagels then these bagels might suit you. If you like the chewey bagels then run for the hills and go to Cross River. And personally, I like BOTH sides of my bagel toasted when asking for a toasted bagel with whatever. They will only toast the open side which is so weird to me. Maybe CT style; definitely not NY style.

The staff here needs to learn the fact that they are in the service industry. Your ONE job is to satisfy any of the customers who come through your door, very rude staff here and I will not be coming back. I have been a Ridgefield resident for quite some time and was recently appalled at the way I was treated as well as another customer in the store at the same time as me. Shame on Steve or whoever owns this business now as they clearly are not watching the staff and making sure they are treating the customers properly....

Overall the food and service are very good, given how many cullinary preferences they deal with, especially during the morning shift. My only suggestion is to not add sugar to any of the coffees they make in the large pots. I had a hazelnut iced coffee and I thought someone poured a whole bag of sugar in it because they had a bad day. It overpowered the hazelnut flavor biiiiiiiig time...as big as that bag of sugat... Let that be the customer's choice, whether they want their coffee sweet.
