Mannen Restaurant

I have ordered from Mannen for years. Tonight I ordered Crispy Sesame Chicken. CRISPY? The chef must have half cooked the pieces in oil and then dumped it all in Duck sauce to heat it. Mushy chickennwuth about a dash of sesame seeds I have never eaten such a gobby mess in my life. Throwing it out it's unedible Shame The Gyosa was not thoroughly cooked The spare ribs were fine. I called and was told they would share my comments with the chef $40 all total. Very disappointed.

We’ve been to so many Japanese restaurants between CT and Fla. None even come close to the quality and great taste of Mannen. Food is consistently delicious, fresh, flavorful and just awesome. Waitstaff is super nice. We love Mannen and look forward to eating there as soon as we come back to CT every summer and Christmas season. Don’t miss this place. It’s simply the best! Every time!

It was my 1st time here and I can say as my preference it had Great service. Great Chef we had a conversation about the Ginger dressing that was in my salad. Of course the food was Great. Some good vegetables too and I prefer broccoli. Which was a plus +…. Then packed two containers to go… I WILL return ….

Very disappointing. First and last time we will be going here. My husband(who is Spanish), 2 children and myself arrived and the place was very busy preparing for a private party which is understandable. We were quickly herded to a table and rushed to get our order (hibachi) again understandable. What bothered me was the fact our food came out within 10 minutes and was luke warm at best. We were barely checked on and didn’t receive napkins until we were almost done with our meals. We didn’t bother complaining to the manager because I’m not looking for a free meal. What bothers me the most is that my 14 year old is questioning why our table was being treated differently than the surrounding tables. They may want to start treating all their patrons the same. Hoping that our terrible service was nothing more than a fluke but definitely won’t be returning.

Interesting that they call this a Japanese restaurant when they are more of a Chinese restaurant that serves sushi- subpar sushi to say the least - old rice and very cold. The fried rice was very tasty and the vegetable dishes were also good. The service is something to be desired- when a waitress comes over with a trash can in one hand and a dirty dish rag in the other to take our drink order, it sends a bad message. I agree with others that the service is not that good.

The LOVE of Sushi, GREAT Chinese food and the good times of a delicious and entertaining Habachi dinner wrapped up in 1 restaurant. My family continues to try sushi restaurants, but "All roads lead back to Mannen." The sushi is fresh, then service is very good , the presentation is nice. They are flexible and will make you something special. They have tons of great special combo rolls. The Chinese food is EXCELLENT and the Hibachi is delicious and so much fun, they make it a great family experience!!! The service is VERY good. This is our GOTO spot for great food....
