Turkish Street Food

We first found this place on GrubHub and it’s was always a hit or miss if they would accept our order or not. Maybe because they too busy at the time? The few times we were able to get our food, it’s been late to very late but the food is pretty good. We always enjoy the mix grill. The staff speaks very limited English but they they try their best and seem very friendly over the phone. If you have the time to wait, it might to worth trying delivery but it’s pretty best to dine there if you can. We haven’t been able to make it out there but hope to some day.

Thanksgiving meal looks different this year for us! We decided to order food delivery for our Thanksgiving Day dinner via Grubhub. I am beyond impressed with his meal considering the restaurant is about a 10min drive away. Food arrived hot and delivery as so FAST! I love the ease of being able to just grab a box of food from the delivery guy than to have to fumble with bags while trying to open my door open. This also means there is less of a chance for the food to tip over during delivery. For those who loves simits, this location makes some of the best sesame ring breads in the area. The shell is crispy and the center is soft and fluffy. The bean salad is so flavorful and refreshing with the sour lemon juice. The beans were cooked to perfection. The down side was my fried mackerel and Sigara boregi, because it was starting to get soggy from the steam. Note to restaurant: Please cut some holes on the plastic lid to allow the steam to escape. Overall, the food is fantastic! And I know exactly what I’ll be ordering next time !!!

I'm a lover of Turkish cuisine, and always like to find new places that serve Turkish cuisine; and Cafe Mekan is a 5 star hit, with a simple, casual, and inviting atmosphere. Very friendly and welcoming staff, great corner location on Bergen Blvd with its own parking, and the menu is full of Turkish delicacies that will leave you wanting more and more. We tried the Sarma which is served hot (most places serve it cold) - and it was very flavorful and delicious. Lachmacun was absolutely perfect - hot, crispy, perfectly seasoned and light. Chicken Kebab with rice and salad was also tender, juicy, and very flavorful. Dessert was Turkish Coffee, Eclairs - and a super creamy, perfectly sweet, vanilla-ish Rice Pudding (which was perfection to my taste buds). Prices are EXCELLENT - and overall it was an experience that I will be sure to have again in the very near future! 5 STARS

Definitely my new favorite spot. Agree with all the reviews 💪🏻, The customer service level is on point- nyc style. I appreciate that a lot esp not seeing such service in Nj period, but working in hospitality industry. Food is excellent I order usually to go for myself and my little ones. They always go extra mile with adding smth sweet ) big thanks. I will keep trying more dishes. Their meats are so tender and nicely marinated.
