The Hideaway

Although it was a busy Saturday night, I waited over one hour for a pick up including 30 minutes inside. That was fine. However the food was ice cold. The French fries were cold and the pulled pork was even colder. After waiting so long by the kitchen the food really should have been at least warm. I threw most of it in the garbage. Should have ordered a pizza.

I was very skeptical of this place when I was reading other reviews. It's not often that a place lived up to reviews that praise every little thing. However, I was pleasantly surprised and I am very happy that I was wrong. First off, everything we ate was excellent. The portions are very good, the quality of the meat was impressive, and the service was quite prompt. The burgers are some of the best in the area, if not all of Connecticut. The prices for food are definitely higher than the average pub. However, you are getting much better food than you would at the average pub so I feel like the tradeoff is fair. There is sometimes a decent wait here as well as this is a popular pub. I would suggest avoiding dinner on weekends if you don't want to wait for seating. Lastly, there is a good mix of beers if you are just looking to have a pint with friends. I really do recommend this place.
