Nothing special with the food. Ordered the 4-1 Pancake combo. Boiled dumplings and squids were bland tasting. Imitation Shark Fin soup is vermicelli noodle and shredded fungus in a thick soup broth. Taste? ECH! Would not go back. There’s much better food stalls at Aberdeen.

!!!!!! O STARS !!!!! I originally wanted to devote some time and write a thorough review on how terrible their attitude/service is, but I figured I'd give them about as much energy as they had given me. I'm just genuinely surprised at how much a person can roll her eyes without suffering from some sort of blindness, or exhale so strongly without passing out. I'm at Aberdeen food court and I see this place at the food court I was craving some dumplings. I take a couple minutes to figure out the menu from a dostance, and I can see the lady behind the counter trying to stare a hole through me. I walk up and I'm immediately met with a roll of her eyes and a deep sigh. I brush it off. I order the dumplings and she asked if I wanted it pan fried, to which I said "no, I'd like boiled please." Again I'm met with another eye roll and exhale like she's been holding her breath in for 38 minutes. Then I asked a question about a combo on the menu I also wanted to order - you guessed it - eye roll and deep sigh, then answer. A couple more of those exchanges and I figured " clearly this lady doesn't want nor need my business." Maybe they should put that as a footnote on their menu: "free eye rolls and sighs for every time customer speaks. Or exists". I understand it's a food court shop, but the attitude she had falls much lower than even the bare minimum of what food court service should be.

With the name "Chef of Dumplings" one would think this place would specialize in dumplings, but I ended up throwing mine away to avoid getting food poisoning. For their dumpling combos you choose from 4 kinds of dumplings (Chinese chive and pork, white cabbage and pork, watercress and chicken or vegetable) and whether you want them boiled or pan fried. I got the pan fried dumplings (12 pieces) combo + imitation Hong Kong style shark fin soup for $10.25. The dumplings were disgustingly oily and while the Chinese chive was edible, the pork white cabbage was undercooked and I threw all of it away to avoid getting sick. The soup was lukewarm and bland. It's not surprising that my dumplings were undercooked. There's only one woman running the show. After I ordered and paid I stepped to the side and she kept taking orders from customers behind me. After waiting awhile, I walked up to the register and asked if my order was coming up. The woman said mine was next and I saw her grab a handful of dumplings and throw some oil on a hot plate that was hidden next to the register. She did not wash her hands after handling cash. She continued taking other customer's orders while my dumplings were cooking and gave them to me once she thought they were done. This woman clearly hasn't passed food safe level 1 and I have no clue how this place continues to operate.

Chef of Dumplings is one of the many Asian-themed food stalls in the Aberdeen Centre’s food court… this one specializing in… you guessed it – dumplings! And who doesn’t love a good dumpling from time to time. I wound up ordering the Boiled Dumpling Combo ($8.75) which comes with your choice of dumpling types (I picked the chive/pork and chicken/watercress) as well as imitation shark fin soup. Boiled dumplings might not sound very exciting but the flavour profile is really enhanced by the type of dipping sauce that you use (they had a couple of different vinegar dipping sauces as well as chili and hot sauces to pick from). Who doesn’t love dumplings?

Just wanted a light snack. Perfect portion for $8. They take credit card ( eventhough it said debit or cash only).
