Banners Restaurant

We had been long time regular customers. The food is ok and the prices are reasonable. Recently we asked for 2 pieces of bacon instead of the menu listed 1 piece of bacon and 1 sausage. I was very rudely informed that it would be a .50 cent 'substitution' fee!!. I have never heard of such a ridiculous practice, and was very surprised. With all of the other breakfast options in the area, all of which are willing to accommodate their customer, we won't be back.

My daughter and I were looking for breakfast and decided to visit Friendly Banners Restaurant. We were welcomed and greeted by a friendly waitress. We were very hungry and waiting was no option. We ordered our food and to our surprise it arrived a few minutes later. Never received my food so quickly in any place. I definitely will return. A great quiet spot for reading and reflection.

Omg this restaurant is the epitome of the greasy diner experience. The restaurant itself is filthy. The bathroom looks like it hasn't been scrubbed in 10 years... thick grime everywhere. Their policies do not allow for substitutions for dietary needs and I was even told I needed to pay extra for lemon wedges for my water. The waitress was kind, attentive and apologetic but they definitely seem to be dealing with the cheapest manager of all time. Terrible restaurant, I will never go back.

Absolute worst service I have EVER recieved in a restaurant. First off, there was no welcome to my party as we entered. The server was standing with her back turned to us surfing the web on her cell-phone; we had to call for her 3 times before she turned to face us. The establishment had 3 tables occupied and we were seated at a table along the back. After being seated, our waitress came up to us and asked us to move, as the table we were at was too large for our group. We cooperated and switched tables. She then brought us our menus and before we all had the chance to sit down she asked if we were ready to order; we ordered a cup of coffee. It came to the table cold, with no creamer or sugar. We then proceeded to sit there for 20+ minutes waiting for our waitress to return to our table; she never did. We were fed up with their disrespect and disregard for their guest and decided to leave. We were then chased out by our waitress demanding we pay for our untouched cold coffee. Shocked by the aggressive tone in her voice we complied and paid, followed by asking for a business card or some way to leave a review; she told us, "you're not allowed. Now leave." Unbelievable service. I would be ashamed to call myself the owner of this establishment. Glad we will NEVER be returning here ever again; and I STRONGLY advice you to not waste your time going to "Friendly" Banners Restaurant!

I do enjoy the breakfast here so I give props to the cooks who do a good job, but the service here is extremely poor. The hostess didn't even say "hi" when we walked in or even a "thank you or goodby" when we left even after giving a 15% tip which I regret doing. The young lady just walked away. Note: it wasn't busy. The waitress was unfriendly as well and didn't come back to check on whether we wanted a refill, and we did try to wave her down. I don't expect 5-star service at a diner, but at least show some customer service and care for your job. I'm not sure if I'd go back because of this experience.

The rudest staff and hostess!!! Will not give them business when there so many friendly nice restaurants in Richmond that would serve you so much better they do they are very rude and do not know how to treat people respectfully or appreciate your business. UNPROFESSIONAL!!!! Food is cheap but attitude of servers is below cheap. Give your business to other small restaurants in our community that are nice to all patrons and accommodating.

We stayed at a hotel nearby and went to the hotel restaurant and found it to be expensive and odd, so we headed to Friendly Banners instead. It is a cute dated diner style restaurant (but in great condition and clean) with great prices and excellent food. We had the eggs benny and omelet and potatoes and it was all wonderful.
