My wedding cake lady had a family tragedy 5 days before my wedding. Joy Ann's cake shop made me a beautiful cake in short notice. It was a bit more $350 for a 3 tier naked cake but i did have cake for my wedding. I supplied my own dried flowers. Also the thumbprint cookies were good but not $96 good for the small amout we had. I do love their cakes. Probably growing up im town and this being the ONLY actual bakery here.
The cookies are delicious! The kids liked picking out their own cookies from the display. They have fun frosted cookies (smiley faces, apples with worms, leaves and pumpkins for fall, something yellow with eyes) for the kids but also regular cookies (pecan thumbprint cookies, snickerdoodles, chocolate chip, peanut butter, butter, a different kind of butter cookies with sprinkles, walnut something, peanut butter chocolate chip). They also have cakes which looked really good and a fridge with various drinks. They do normally have donuts but when we went they didn't have any so we didn't get to try them.
Went to Joy Ann's after hearing rave reviews of the cookies. I had eaten the cupcakes at a birthday party and had not cared for them. HOWEVER, decided to give them a try on my own. Bought a cream horn, cannolis, and thumbprint cookies....everything was amazing. The cream in the cream horns was perfect. Not too much like icing or whipped cream- a perfect mid-point. The service was good, and I thought they handled a difficult customer who came in while I was making my selections in a professional way. I will be going back!!! Probably soon!
I'm sitting here eating one of the ice bar cookies I purchased, they're awesome of course. I also bought a pumpkin angel food cake with cream icing. the cake will have to wait for later but I'll let you know. Definitely five stars and a thumbs up 👍
This bakery has become our family's tradition for birthdays, weddings and any special occasion. The thumbprint cookies are a bit pricey but my adult children know they're loved when they each get their 1# bags!! LOL
A local favorite, Joy Ann Cake Shop has a large variety of cookies and cakes with the iced angelfood cake standing out as a particularly neat treat. They made my wedding cake 14 years ago and I have been a loyal customer ever since.
When I was little my mom used to take my twin brother and I to the library and then we would go to the bakery for thumbprint cookies and if we were especially good we would get a cookie shaped like big bird's head. My brother and I would always be eager to get some of their fine baked goods. Going there just lit up our day when we were little, but it has been a while since we have been there and I hope that things haven't changed!
