The food is delicious if you can stand the wait. There is ANY PORTION CONTROL and at these prices for OXTails your LARGE shouldn’t feel like a child’s plate. $16+ dollars for 4 oxtails which are just pieces cut from the larger pieces. I’m thank full they are on the east end but the wait times and They refuse to let you preorder and/or prepay for your order ahead of time. Which sucks if you only have a short lunch break.
No matter what you order there is a 25 to 40 minute wait.... any time of day. My first experience and impression is they really need Resturant training. I would love to turn this place into a customer service giant because the food is already great.
The owner really needs to pay attention to the staff or hire a store manager to keep everyone on their toes. Including the cook and himself.
My biggest pet peeve was the traffic going in and out of the kitchen. Too many non servicing family members were coming in and out of the kitchen. The cashier/waitress can’t handle the orders a lone and when she did get help the woman had no personality and was rude and sharp. The original server/cashier also needs to be consistent on down time in cleaning the tables. They were NASTY. Her attire was tights/leggings and a short shirt. So you consistently were seeing her BUTT crack more then the menu!!!
Granted they have only been open two months or so but they should see by now they need to step up their game. There Street signs are terrible and hard to read. They would have even more business if they had better marketing and business experience.
As for the food.... Excellent Consistent and Spicy.
I’m never out this way, but stopped in for a late lunch. The woman behind the counter was pleasant and helpful. I had the Curry Chicken with collards and cabbage. The chicken was very good. I could have eaten more! The collards were excellent, well seasoned, spicy and salty (fine by me). I hope folks will give immediate and constructive feedback so the owners can correct any problems. I liked the place!
I loved it was doing my happy dance and share and gave blessings to God 🙏 for this delicious warm homemade meal I had the oxtail peas and rice with cabbage chicken brown stew rice and peas and cabbage cornbread macaroni and cheese and yams when I got home added a little bit of brown sugar to it mmm so good. Yes talk about the kids meal for $5.25 a good deal that should be a snack size with a drink for that price everyday (for anyone) and the oxtails lots of meat right seasonings n delicious cornbread was so delicious and the brown chicken stew was so good
Today I decided to try Irie Vibes today and was pleasantly surprised! It did not take longer than 15. minutes for my jerk chicken and it was delicious! The cabbage was cooked to perfection (not crunchy which is my preference).
In town for business and decided to try this Jamaican Restaurant. The jerk chicken was amazing and delicious! Definitely coming here again.
Irie Vibes is AMAZING!!! They have wonderful vegan options and the food was delicious and fresh. We had the curry tofu and the coconut curry chickpea and both loved our meals (comes with cabbage, rice and peas, and veggies). The owner Angie is warm, welcoming, and has the best spirit. So happy to have a restaurant in the area with so many vegan options!!! Don't miss out on Irie!
First time ordering here. I got the jerk salmon with double cabbage. It was amazing and I can't wait to order from them again. The food was amazing, the salmon was tender, flavorful, and had the perfect kick. It wasn't mushy or dry. The cabbage was seasoned to perfection and the peppers and onions had the right flavor and right crunch. I loved it!!
New favorite spot
Been away from home for a long time,Irie Vybz feels just like home away from home, great customer service. The food was absolutely magnificent.i had the curry shrimp and fish last night it was so well presented alot vegetables.i am surely goin visit here again. This restaurant was well needed
I ordered the Oxtails Large Platter with red beans and rice, cabbage. I also ordered their fried chicken wings. The food was really good with flavor! I wasn't expecting the fried chicken wings to be THAT good, but it was awesome! Negative was that I only got about four oxtails with a load of the rice. Wish I had more meat as I paid almost $20 for the "Large Platter". I've been to the Caribbean food truck near VCU Health downtown and he gives the same quantity for $9.75 with Pink Lemonade. I should've gotten a little more for the price. The wings was $7.50 and they were very good. Overall, it was really good.
The owners are very professional and sweet! The food taste like it is made with love ! The cashiers are super respectful and helpful:) my first time I ordered a homemade lemonade and the curry goat . FOOD WAS OFF THE CHAIN!! That lemonade rocked my world I had to purchase 2 more ...AMAZING PLACE!!!
