I had my apartment tour yesterday and this place is so cute! The property manger, Karen, has been nothing but respectful and so so SO sweet oh my goodness. She is a person who does not like to beat around the bush or try to sell you something just to make money. She is honest, upfront (in a respectful way), and transparent. I’ve heard from a lot of upper class-men (I’m a freshmen) that this place is not good and only good for the price. Well in my opinion, this place has character! I like that old historic Richmond look. Also the fact it’s right in the middle of everything….. amazing! Not going to lie even if I don’t live here I’m still going to go to Karen’s office cause I love talking to her 😂

Perfect location for anyone attending VCU as you can walk to the main library in 3 minutes. Great apartment with stunning views. Wonderful management that really cares about it's tenants. My son stayed there for a year before the pandemic and is returning after a year of absence to resume his studies. He could not be happier!

I mean...if you can get your parents to pay for it... ;) it's not a bad spot to live! (The apartment complex is located at the edge of "the Fan", which is the greatest neighborhood in Richmond . It's a wonderful place for VCU students to live, since it situated in the center of campus. Take a stroll down historic Franklin Street & you'll see what there is to love about living in Richmond!

I cannot speak to the actual living experience of the Chesterfield Apartments as I have just signed my lease. However, I want to say that the communication has been amazing thus far. Dillon Holdridge helped me out via phone many times and was able to enthusiastically answer all my questions. I definitely feel like my time with the Chesterfield Apartments are off to a good start thanks to him.

For the price and location, this place is tough to beat. Maintenance has always responded within 24 hours to any ticket I submitted. Karen and her team have always been courteous and professional when I would stop in and ask a question or had a request. A very responsive team, which always makes the tenant happy. There’s a laundry room in the basement that is well maintained. All the machines conveniently take Apple Pay, and I never had to wait for a machine to be open. Obviously being an older building some conveniences don’t exist, such as having a better elevator system. Considering the age and there only being one elevator, wait times can vary. There’s also no central air so you have window units, which work just fine. Bathrooms get chilly in the winter so I would recommend a small space heater for the winter. All in all, I’m perfectly happy staying at this location for the $$ I save. Not to mention it’s a great location with most things within minutes of walking distance or short drive.

My daughter decided to move from Florida to Richmond about a year ago. She found Chesterfield apartments and decided this is where she wants to be. The previous management company messed up big time but the new management company, especially Dwayne, Karen & Linda, stepped in and managed to make everything work out. The new management company has bent over backwards to make sure my daughter was comfortable. They eased both of our anxiety of her moving to another state. I also want to say thank you to the maintenance guys, they too went out of their way to help. As a parent, I know my daughter is safe and well taken care of. It's an old building but her unit is really nice. She is happy and feels safe, which makes mom happy. Thank you guys!!!!

I have had no major issues here at Chesterfield and I have been here over 8 months now. I enjoy it here, yes we have a had some elevator troubles during my time here but its only 7 flights of stairs at maximum. It is an older building but the maintenance team is on top of things. When I first moved here, I did not like the management and had some issues but they underwent a whole new management in the last 3 months and they have been nothing but helpful. Things changed around quickly and I plan on renewing my lease in July.
