It's hard to give any major chain 5 stars. They are more about convenience and atmosphere than quality food. So don't take my rating as any real flawed experience..
It's obviously an old building so, wear and tear is present if you're looking for it, but i honestly think it's well kept enough.
The staff was delightful and the pumpkin pecan pancakes hit every year! Way better than ihop's take.

The server Josey is better than any waitress I have ever had in my life. The customer service is excellent. We always get our drinks on time and she has a very awesome vibe. I love eating at the Denny's in Richmond, Va.

My girlfriend and I were traveling back home to Va. Beach from motorcycling the Blue Ridge Mountains and stopped in for a nice breakfast. The service we received from Chevy was absolutely amazing!!! She is very friendly, makes you feel comfortable and even says, “Take your time, make sure you get full and enjoy yourselves”. Hands down…. the best service that I have ever received from any restaurant!!!

Lemme ask y'all a question. Have you served before? Do y'all know how demeaning and stressful it can get?? Whoever was working on Saturday 12/16/23 around 2pm-2:15pm were holding their damn own and need a damn raise!! I didn't see any servers getting yelled at for no reason by management which is always so amazing to see because lemme tell you what..in this economy being a server is not the most lucrative career! The 2 servers working the front desk area were so kind and kept making sure everyone that was just kinda mingling were helped yet and just helped facilitate pick ups and dining-ins. Also they were so pretty (i just got nervous to say outloud 😔). For Dennys being what a Dennys is y'all holding the fort down and providing exceptional customer service.

We stopped for a late dinner the night of October 14th after flying in. We picked Dennys on West Broad because it was open and on the way. The food was great. Melanie took awesome care of us, had a super attitude and was very friendly. Thanks to Melanie and the cook (whose name I don't know) for an unexpectedly good experience.

I have been here twice in one week. The staff is phenomenal. Watching them handle the continuous Veterans Day crowd....they work their butts off. Shout out to Wayne because he made sure my coffee was always full and my food came out quick. He deserves a job well done. The food has been fantastic and even looks better than the pics on the menu.

Qiania was a GREAT SERVER. She had a tough situation with her manager literally berating her in front of everyone, but she kept a cool demeanor and gave everyone the service we’re used to with her. She’s a professional. I can’t give the atmosphere 5 stars because the manager he/she was TERRIBLE, but that’s not her fault at all

I had a wonderful breakfast; and received outstanding service this morning. I ordered a 55+ Starter breakfast and decaf coffee (soft scrambled eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, and toast). My waitress was solo serving diners, seating customers, and running the cash register. She was amazing: super, super attentive, kind, and friendly. So far, since returning to the area in March this is my favorite breakfast restaurant. I try visiting at least once a month.

I go here a lot and most of the wait staff knows me by name. they are always friendly and i hardly ever complain. yesterday I found hair in my food. the waitress brought me a plate and asked me to put it on there. she immediately took it in back and informed what I thought was a manager. the manager never came to my table after this event. also, I was still charged for my entree which I could no longer finish. none of us really wanted to finish our food after. I find this highly unprofessional that thw manager never came over to say anything. in fact I asked the manager when she was ringing me up why I still had to pay for my entree and she replied i gave you bacon for free. oh thanks for 3 dollars off because I didn't actually eat the hair. I could have put someone else's hair in my mouth and possibly choked. also one of the people dining with me was pregnant and almost vomited because of the hair.

If I could give no stars I would. The poor waitress was working by herself with no help from her management. We waited for our food, which I have no complaint about my food, however we had to wait a while for a refill on our drinks at which time my boyfriend approached the manager who was female, whose name I will be reporting to corporate, and she proceeded to get an attitude with him. When we went to leave my boyfriend and friend talked to this same manager who claimed that the hostess that they had doing double work was really a waitress, however, we overheard her not knowing the menu. She also claimed to be working back in the kitchen, but she had plenty of staff in the kitchen from what I could see, and her clothes were not dirty. I am so appalled at the behavior by this manager, and I will be contacting corporate about how she treats her staff since she felt the need to catch an attitude with her only waitress and with customers. Don’t bother going there and wasting your time.

The food was decent but the place was dirty from top to bottom - the floors were cluttered with filth, the booths filled with bits of food and junk, and the tabletops were sticky. I'm pretty sure our waitress was ill and she was handling some of our food. She served me coffee that was stale because, as she later admitted cheerfully, it was the last of the last pot that had been made. I don't know if the staff was stretched a little too thin on this particular day, but this was by far the worst experience I've ever had dining at a Denny's. Just the pits. Did I mention that two employees were having a rather loud argument where every customer in the place could hear them? That's pretty unprofessional and deserving of a reprimand.

I got a breakfast platter and asked the bacon to be cooked crispy and it wasn't, the eggs were way over cooked, had to ask for my toast 3 different times and the hash browns were undercooked. My husband had the full size serving of nachos and he said they were awesome. The reason I didn't send it back was it was taking too long to find our waitress. I haven't eaten there in over 5 years because of the food and I will never go back again.

We visited on a Tuesday morning because we wanted some pecan waffles. Our server got us coffee and water right away. I was a bit disturbed to see a black speck on the inside of my coffee mug. What was more disturbing was the server telling me she saw it too but I shouldn't worry because it was part of the cup! Then, I looked at our water glasses and you could clearly see the finger prints of the last person that drank from the cup. It was just gross. Next, our server told us the waffle iron has been broken for a few weeks. We decided to try the pecan pancakes as a second choice. They used candy coated pecans which were terrible. Stay away from this Denny's.

West Broad Dennys gave me the best service i have ever received. My waiters name was Wayne, he was so attentive and friendly to all the customers . My food wa excellent, I would definitely visit the location again.
