Piccola Italy Pizza & Subs

My whole family is from New York and I grew up in Philly, so I've had some really good pizza. The hallmark of a quality pizza is feeling stuffed after only eating 2 slices. This is the best pizza I've eaten in Richmond. Also, when you order extra cheese, you actually get extra cheese. The cannoli was great too.

Piccola’s is a classic college takeout and dine-in eatery that has been serving Richmond for 25 years. It offers a variety of pizzas, subs, salads, and appetizers, as well as a selection of Italian wines. I decided to try their pastrami sub baked with added hot sauce and jalapeños, which sounded like a spicy and satisfying choice. The sub was generously filled with sliced pastrami, melted cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, and mayonnaise. The bread was toasted and crispy on the outside, but soft and chewy on the inside. The hot sauce and jalapeños added a nice kick to the meaty and cheesy flavor, but not too much to overwhelm the taste buds. The sub was large enough to fill me up, but not too heavy to make me feel sluggish. I enjoyed the sub very much and would recommend it to anyone who likes a bit of spice in their sandwich. Piccola’s is a great place to grab a quick and tasty bite, whether you are a student or not. The service was friendly and efficient, and the price was reasonable. I paid around 12 dollars with tax and tip for takeout. I would definitely go back to Piccola’s and try some of their other menu items, such as their pizzas, calzones, or salads.

This place is classic old school pizza. Not fancy on the inside. The love is in the pizza. We were traveling from Virginia to Florida and stopped here for a slice. It was amazing. My sister got a sub it's a little messy but worth eating it. I even tried some. If you are passing through you need to stop here and try this absolutely amazing pizza. We were a party of five with a baby and a teenager. We left filled and happy. Mad respect for this place. Much love from Sarasota Florida guys!

This place is amazing! If you have not visited & you'rein the area, this place is a must. By far, the closest NY pizza I've ever tasted. Italian, for sure! Their pizza by the slice is huge and filling. You can add whatever toppings you want on the one slice. I always get bacon🥓 & pineapple🍍 ! Today, we tried the lasagna. It was so damn good, we took the picture halfway into eating the dish. It was filling enough on top of the pizza, and there was still half of the plate left! The only reason the atmosphere received 4 stars was because they have a fountain drink machine, but it doesn't work. There is a good variety of bottled beverages, though. Definitely need to make it a point to come here! I want to try so much more! 🤤

This is the best pizza 🍕 place in all of the Richmond area. Worth the drive. They have fresh pizza by the slice, the fountain drinks are down but they have a great selection of bottled beverages including beer. NY taste hands down. Staff is friendly and even brought the food to the table while it wasn't too busy. Now I forgot to take a picture when it first came out, but the Lasagna with meat sauce OMG! A must eat for any pizza and Italian food lovers. (Authentic)

The lady at the counter is precious and very friendly, Excellent service.. Typical NY style pizza fresh and made well.. Taste was good.. I would get a slice from here again and want to try other things.. Nice to see some Italians in this little city.. Corner spot in Midtown well placed by the college

Piccola Italian Pizza is the best Italian food I have ever eaten! When it’s made by natural Italians then you know you’re in the right spot! The pizza was huge and filling, and the bruschetta was like home made from a sweet Italian grandmother. The imported wine from Italy “Duca Di Camastra”. Like velvet swirling down your throat!
