This place is dope! Got vegan “totchos” and Oreo pudding, and it totally exceeded my expectations. Surprised anyone would say a bad thing about this place. Also has to be the fastest food truck I’ve ever experienced.
A small hole in the wall bar with live music every night. Some of the bands were better than others, and the drink prices were good.
The pours are heavy, and the bar was busy but not overcrowded.
Bathrooms are not especially clean, but this place has an overall grungy feel so I wasn’t really surprised.
We did not eat the food, so I can’t comment on that.
Very good food, the loaded nachos appetizers is huge and extremely good. Would not expect this quality of food, from such a small cafe. Went with a group of 9, very quick service.

Meet me at Cary Street! Cary Street is the kind of place where the staff treats you like family and music is always playing! Great place to eat, play an open mic, karaoke, or see live music! It's my favorite bar in RVA ♥️ Try the Cincinnati chili bake, it's delicious..✌️
This place was really fun to go to, the bar is nice and so was the food. I had one of the burgers and that was the best burger I ever had. To my surprise they had live music which was quite enjoyable, would defintely recommend coming here with a group of friends because of how friendly the waitresses and Waiters are. There are tons of Grateful Memorabilia which just adds to the coolness of the place.
I have been going here since I was old enough to drink so over 5 years and it has always been one of my favorite spots. Great little deck for people watching and they have games sometimes. LIVE MUSIC is always fantastic, I have seen so many bands get discovered here, Cary St. Cafe is a staple of Richmond.
High quality bar food with a great beer selection and reasonable prices. Their daily food specials are hand crafted and delicious. Plus talented live music every day and an amazing staff!! One of the best bars in Richmond.
To me Cary Street Cafe is a wonderful local eatery that also offers a bar and a variety of scheduled music events. It's nice that weekday lunch specials are offered and noted on the chalkboard right outside the front door. Their salad dressings are wonderful because they're fresh and made in house. (I happen to love their blue cheese dressing.) The wait staff is very friendly with a great sense of humor, and they greet their regular customers by first name. My business partner and I can easily walk to this neighborhood destination for lunch, and I love it!
Cary St Cafe is the last haven in the fan for live music! If you are looking for a bar to grab a bite to eat and listen to some live music (almost every night) this is the place for you! It also doesn't hurt to be a deadhead to appreciate all the great dead memorabilia they have on the wall! Staff are always friendly and the clientele is half of what makes this place an inviting neighborhood establishment. Open mic night on Tuesday is about as 'local' as you can get
Love the place, the owner is one of the most wonderful people you'll ever meet. The food here is by far the best for what it is and guarantee you'll never leave hungry. The music atmosphere is the best, pretty much all day and 7 days a week you get to hear and meet some rightious musicians. When you're at CaryStreerCafe, you are among family.
