Review Takara Ramen - Richmond

Amanda
Seating is very limited here with a handful of tables and then there's the bar seating that's at the bar and along the wall. We took the bar seating along the wall which felt cramped next to a table with other guests. The hostess was polite and brought water to us while we waited to order. There does seem to be a takeout option if you don't want to dine in or there's no place to sit. We waited a little while before our drinks and order was taken. Overall the food was tasty and reasonably priced. We got the curry, shrimp tempura udon, and an order of beef gyoza that all came out quickly. I'd like to come back and enjoy the food at an actual table. The atmosphere here is very relaxed and casual.

I had no idea there was a ramen place so close to my house. My son & I went here for a dinner together on Mothers Day. We were seated right away, and they brought out a bottle of water with glasses while we ordered. The menu is digital. We ordered an appetizer, vegetable rolls that were piping hot and tasted so fresh and good. They were yummy dipped in the duck sauce. My entree was a Ramen with soy milk. The server asked if we wanted a fork, or chopsticks, and I decided to be adventurous and use only chopsticks. To my surprise, I did pretty well lol... they were not as hard as I anticipated. The dining area is a lil dark, and the table & chairs are kind of low to the floor but overall, I enjoyed everything and would go back for sure.

My wife and I have eaten here twice. Both times the ramen was excellent. The spicy miso ramen was hot, but not too hot (only face sweating). The service is attentive without being too personal (no need to introduce yourself to us and return repeatedly to the table to check in, as with some restaurants) and the atmosphere is nice, with Japanese decorations.

I went here for my 1st with my wife for lunch. The food was delicious and the beer was great! I’m rating 4/5 stars because the waitress was not as attentive as I would have liked. I say that because I had to ask another waitress to order our desert and for our check at the end. My wife & I will be back because the food and are hopeful for a better experience.

Such a good place to visit when you’re craving something warm with a burst of flavor. Quick turnaround times for ordering and receiving your food. Also, can’t remember the name of the crab sticks but one of the best appetizers I’ve tried!

Really good! Lots of very traditional Japanese dishes, which I absolutely love. You can’t find anything else like this in Richmond. Would recommend doing tapas style and ordering a bunch of dishes to share with your party.

Really warm and comforting ramen with lots of flavor. There’s only one vegetarian ramen with a limited selection of vegetarian food options besides the one ramen. Wait staff was really attentive and helpful. The service was speedy and always asked the appropriate question about our dietary restrictions and our food.

I got the signature spicy soy wings, and chicken miso ramen ... it was so good, and the spicy level was actually spicy unlike some other places ... The vibes in here are on point, not too bright, not too loud. Its definitely a great first time ramen experience. I will be coming back.

Nice little ramen joint. Went here for the first time and they had a mobile menu which was nice. The place itself isn’t too bright when I went when It was dark out. It gave me lofi vibes or if someone were to visit a pac sun with the lighting of the place haha. Only bad moment was I was trying to order some ice cream and my server walked away instead of staying to hear what I was trying to say. She probably didn’t hear me though. I got the yaki soba and that was very delicious! The portion is a generous amount so of course I took some home.

Such a cute place and the food was amazing! My only complaint is that my ramen came out a good five-ten minutes faster than our edamame appetizer and my husband's rice dish, but the food was ready overall quickly and like I said, tasted amazing!

Absolutely delicious! Octopus balls for appetizer, Tonkatsu and Tonkatsu Miso for main and green tea cheesecake for dessert! Everything was delicious, great service, they brought our ramen after we were done with appetizers. For ramen I would suggest to ask for spicy paste and add that to your broth for extra kick a d don’t forget to ask for fish cakes. Yum!!!!!

A great little place for ramen in the West End, with good service and a nice atmosphere. We came for a quick dinner, and the broth was served hot and satisfying. I got the chicken shoyu ramen, which was on the salty side for my taste, but flavorful. My husband got the spicy miso ramen with pork, which he really enjoyed. The broth was delicious and the pork was very tender. We also got some okonomiyaki to start with, and we've had their chasu buns before and both are quite good. There's a good amount of seating, with barside seating as well as tables, though I would not recommend it for groups over 10... You could fit 4-6 cozy around one table though. This place also has the most extensive sake menu I have seen yet in Richmond, if you're into that sort of thing.

Had a huge bowl of Spicy Miso Ramen that really hit the spot down to the last drop, but I can never resist an order of fried oysters at a ramen shop...they're HUGE and come out piping hot from the fryer. The atmosphere is clean + warm + cozy and the service was on point. My go-to for Richmond ramen.

Legendary place. Service is fast, reliable, the food is incredible and comes out quick. Be prepared to sit a little uncomfortably - the seats aren't bad, they're just a little hard. It's worth it though.

This little place is packed with huge flavor! I came to visit in my quest of Richmond’s best ramen. I found this little place cozy and inviting. The severs are helpful and polite. The stools are way more comfortable than they look. They are made from recycled cork. The tables are handmade and everything appears to be clean and orderly. Now... about the food. Ramen 🍜 is all about the broth and what you combine with it. You can have a great base but the wrong combination of ingredients can turn the broth upside down! I am please to announce that the miso, the vegetable and the chushu bun was amazing. Everything was fresh and appealing to the eyes. This is definitely one of my favorite spots if not my number one spot. I highly recommend you stopping by for a taste of this little place. ****update. Took my mom and older brother to get their reaction... I was so proud of my 74 year old mother who used chopsticks 🥢 for the first time and crushed it!!! My brother on the other haaaaaaand... lets just say a run of soke and a fork later he also had fun.

Good place for a quick ramen break! They have a variety of other dishes as well. The service was great - everyone is super friendly and fast. The food was pretty good. Not top shelf noodles but definitely hit the spot. The flavor of the toppings seemed a little off. Would visit again!
