I was in need a something small to eat to last me through the rest of the day. After calling my order in with excellent service I went to pick it up but realized that I had ordered the wrong thing. The GM happened to be there and she quickly stepped in and made it right even though the error was on my part! She also happened to be the one who took my order as well. I greatly appreciate businesses that have good customer service and will continue to visit Shanes during my mid day cravings. Thanks again!

Great experience here. Got a full rack of ribs, sweet potato fries, cpl texas toast and some fried okra for about $21. My girlfriend and me at this for two and it more than filled us up. We also got a free peach cobbler for some type of promotion they have going currently. The envelope they hand you is for random prizes you can redeem there like half off items or free sandwiches and such. They have a big menu. They even brought the food on over to us. All the staff there i met seemed really nice and i love it. The actual setting is a hit country in appearance but they do play modern music. Its a mix. Plus they have an outside patio as well. Downside they do not serve any beer or alcohol :/

Chicken, Ribs, mac-n-cheese, fried okra and bread is the best I've had in a long time. I like his bbq sauce! Floor and tables were little bit sticky, but other than that it was great. Service was good and quick and the Peach Tea was excellent.

I really like this place. It's super quick and the staff is wonderful. Great ribs, pulled pork, and, burgers, and Brunswick stew. Everyone was happy, even the picky eaters. Nice for when you want a good BBQ meal but don't want to do a full restaurant sit down. Very clean.

Good Ribs, slaw and beans. Extremely friendly staff that bends over backwards to help. The Carolina Mustard sauce is incredible. I could make a meal out just it and the texas toast to dip in it.

From the menu I’ve had their burgers, sweet potato fries, grilled lemon pepper chicken salad, and ribs & half chicken platter. Oh, also their peach cobbler. Just about everything has been delicious each time I’ve gone there. The restaurant is clean and staff is friendly. Great place to go if you want a quick bite but you don’t necessarily want Wendy’s, etc.

I've been coming here for years and love the food. Sadly today 2/10/19 @ about 12:45pm the lady with the black hair taking orders was not the nicest. She ignored us and looked away when we said good afternoon and asked how she was doing. We were going to ignore it as nothing, but the couple right behind us was greeted politely by her before they even opened their mouth. We've never seen her in here before and can only assume that she is new.

We usually stop in at Shames whenever we are in Richmond for a few days. Portions are generous and prices reasonable. Staff is always friendly. My only request would be to cut down on amount of sugar in dishes. The Brunswick Stew I ordered as a side would have been good if it hadn't been so sweet. But locals tell me that that is the prevailing taste preference of the region, so what do I know....

I really was not expecting their food items to be as great tasting as I thought. The very best thing I like that they use dehydrated garlic not that garlic powder stuff. Garlic powder is really thick, and makes food taste processed. I really enjoyed the meaty ribs, the baked beans were so delicious, and the peach cobbler was so perfectly prepared without all that sweetness to it. Best place to eat! You can sign up for rewards too!
