Little Nickel is more like a silver dollar. Small place, big on charm, flavor and menu options. While the menu is not overly expansive, it adeptly takes you anywhere you want to go in terms of a dining experience. We had chicken nachos, octopus tostadas, Siam salad w a burger(perfectly cooked, the juices came out as I cut into it) and a cod sandwich with amazing fries. Topped it off with a coconut cream pie. Texture, flavor, great eclectic mix up. Everything was wonderful, they know what they’re doing. I could have stayed in appetizer section and been hugely satisfied. The seating is cozy, so you may feel compelled to talk with your neighbors as we did. Very nice sense of community which we need so much in these divided times. Plus, you could see what neighbors were trying. I was perusing the food coming out of the kitchen and I honestly would have eaten anything that I saw. It must be happening, I even saw one of the owners of Lucy’s restaurant(another of our favorites) standing in line to be seated as We left. Definitely worth the trip if you live across the river or in far west end. It’s great to see our restaurant scene continue to blossom as RVA becomes more an more of a foodie town. Definitely will return!

4 of us arrived and they said it would be an hour wait. No way the wait took an hour! The time flew by, they seated us. The food was deliciously creative! The portions were quite healthy! The price is very reasonable. I give the food and the atmosphere a 5, of all the staff we encountered, everyone was very friendly. I would give our server a 3.5 to a 4. She had a slightly cold attitude (my guests agreed about our server). Then again the restaurant was busy, maybe she was a little overwhelmed. My experience was a 5 overall! I will be back, the food was delicious and like I said, over all the staff was very welcoming!

Sat out on the patio for one of the first beautiful fall days of the year and it was a great time! We ordered General Tso wings to start, and I got a coconut shrimp sandwich with honey mustard and slaw. Everything was delicious, including the copious helping of shoestring fries. My only minus on the food was that the bread was a bit too crusty and it made the sandwich hard to eat. We had a bit of a bee and fly issue at our table which was a tad distracting, and our server hardly said anything to us after taking our orders, but overall, this was a nice find. I definitely would return.

What a gem!! Truly lives up to the hype! Our friends have been raving about this spot and it does not disappoint! The fries are SOO good! Pretty much anything on the menu is amazing - but split a plate if you want room for dessert, because the food is filling and the portion sizes are good. The atmosphere is very tropical and sunny, with bold wallpaper and touches. There are lots of interesting choices for seating, including an outdoor shaded patio. Would work well for big groups and small. We came right after the lunch rush on a Saturday and were able to get seated quickly (3 adults, 2 kids), but it was still fairly busy. I've heard that it's really popular for weekend dinner. While they don't take reservations, you can order curbside pick up online! We got nachos, lamb cheesesteak, and the filet o'nikel. Everything was delicious! My husband is from Philly and he quite enjoyed the cheesesteak. Highly recommend! I'm already excited to come back and try something new from the menu! And seriously , get the fries. You won't regret it.

Cute little bar & restaurant in Forest Hill, loved the atmosphere and the music. There was a wait for a Friday night dinner but time flew by as you can order a drink at the bar & chill outside. Their cocktails are unique and there's something for everyone to try and experience. Their food was amazing, I had the lamb cheesesteak w/fries and was right about what you'd expect. A great portion and just right about messy enough that gives you the street food vibe in a good way! Would definitely come back again!

The food didn't disappoint. The only thing I found uneasy is the individual who sat us down was not pleasant with her demeanor . Must not be happy of what she is doing. Not a good part of the restaurant hospitality business. Our server on the other hand was nice, attentive and have a pleasant demeanor. Most importantly this place is dog friendly.

Super kitschy tropical vibe and we all loved it. Got several apps and all were high quality, executed perfectly. My wife and I split a burger (cooked med rare and cooked perfectly). Fries were amazing but seemed to come out unseasoned. Had to ask for salt. Would absolutely go back.

This was our first time here. The interior is super cute but a bit small. The food was really good and fresh and the portions were a great size. Our server was attentive but not hovering, which was great. Overall, we had great experience and will be back.

The dining experience was really nice. I enjoyed the earth colors and the overall island vibe. The music was a little on the loud side. There were times when we (family and I) were yelling across the table. Maybe it was because of where we were sitting.? Either way the food made it all worth while. I could have stopped at the nachos. They were overflowing and delicious. We ordered the fried cheese sticks. (That wasnt what they were called but I dont recall the name) both were really filling. We ordered the crab spaghetti, salmon, the kids meal chicken tenders and French fries, and lamb cheesesteak. All was equally delicious. The kids meal was so good that my son ate EVERYTHING. That has never happened before! The portion size was large and it was worth it. I couldn't leave without a slice of the upside down pineapple. It was so moist, and fluffy, has a nice rum balance with a candy-type base. (The whipped cream topping was my own add on.) I would absolutely recommend Little Nickle if you are in the Richmond area.

My wife and I came here for drinks and dinner. We got our drinks and ordered the nachos as an appetizer. The nachos are not an appetizer lol! They could be a meal on their own, and totally deserve to be as every bite was amazing. My wife ordered the crab spaghetti which is creamy and delicious. Their are many nuanced flavors through the dish. I ordered the Hawaiian pork bowl and couldn't stop eating. You can taste each individual ingredient, yet together they become a symphony of flavor. Absolutely recommended.

Everything about this place was excellent - the food, drinks, and service. Often in places that have great cocktails/ambiance, the food is nothing to write home about. Everything we ordered here was fantastic. The Pupu appetizer platter was delicious, as was my Siam salad and my partner’s Peri-Peri chicken. Also the drinks were great and special shoutout to our bartender Josephine. She was super friendly and gave some awesome recommendations. Will definitely be back!
