Holy S***! This was some damn good food! My girlfriend and I have been wanting to try out this place since I moved close by. Now let me say that what we ordered was delicious. I'm still salivating just thinking about the food! We ordered the beef brisket, smoked sausage links, collard greens, Texas caviar, mashed potatoes, and the Texas Train Wreck. We DEVOURED it all! Definitely worth the cold walk in the rain! You'll definitely be seeing me again!

Ate here before the temp closing. Good food, tried out the pork taco and jalapeño Mac and cheese. I'm not usually a big slaw person, but theirs goes very well with their BBQ. The Mac also has a good cheesy texture, definitely reminds me of a traditional southern-style baked Mac and cheese

First time here. The Brisket sandwich was amazing! The sauce was sweet with a little kick! Loved it. I had a slice of corn bread. It was okay, a little dry. The honey butter was really hard to spread. I would have given a four star but that sandwich was amazing!

Got the sampler from here. I ordered pork, brisket, rice and beans, cowboy beans, and cornbread. The pork was decent, but I didn't like the sauce as much. The brisket was tough. The cornbread was easily the best part of the meals. The cowboy beans were kind of good, and the rice and beans were just regular. The green sauce was pretty good, too.

This is a hometown favorite! You can’t go wrong with the Texas style Philly cheesesteak which is sweet and spicy. And the fully loaded quesadillas with ur choice of protein. Pair it with the homemade Limeade to quench your thirst!

I was passing through Richmond, and heard about how good Alamo BBQ is so I had to stop by and eat! I ordered the Texas philly. It was so delicious! I loved the sauce that they use for the philly sandwich. You can order it with your choice of bbq. I ordered my Texas philly with beef brisket. I wish my sandwich had a little more beef, but I loved it and enjoyed it. My family got the whole ribs with the 2 sides. We all loved the bbq. It was superb! I loved the jalapeno mac n cheese! It was so creamy with the perfect amount of spice in every bite! We were a little surprised at how small the sides were lol. Each of us had 1 bite of the sides, so if you are a large family I recommend getting the 1/2 pint or pint size orders for the sides. We ordered a pint size jalapeno mac n cheese to take home with us! We also ordered the cornbread with honey butter...this is addicting! I can eat it all day! We all loved the cornbread with the honey butter combo. The restuarant is easy to find because of the light pink color it is. Parking was also easy to find, but I am not sure how parking is while there are students at VCU. I went while school was out. There is only outside seating, also there is no bathroom. It appears the bathroom is only for employees. Overall, my family and I enjoyed Alamo BBQ! Whenever we are in Richmond we will definitely be going back to order the same sandwich, ribs, and sides!

I had the pulled pork w/o cole slaw. The meat tasted great and it wasn’t greasy at all which was great!!! The menu prices listed on google weren’t right when I looked. I though the sandwich was $6, but it ended up being, $8, then $9 when tax was included. I felt like that was a lot, but 🤷‍♀️

Fantastic food every time! Parking is a little strange, and you have to walk across a very busy traffic circle but it is DEFINITELY worth it. They aren't very handicap friendly but this is just an old fashioned open grill with picnic tables. Beer is served here. One restroom fits all. Texas Trainwreck is very popular and their brisket is smoked proper. If not for the location it would have five stars because the food and service is top notch

Great barbecue. Texas style which means it's going to be unique for this area. I would highly recommend you trying it if you're visiting. The owner is actually from Texas

Had the 3 meats, 3 sides platter. Ribs, Brisket, Pork & Texas Caviar (pictured), Mac n’ Cheese, Beans. Brisket was so very delicious! Ribs were large & had lots of meat on them; wish they were falling-off-the-bone more but they were good nevertheless. Sides were good too.
