We were walking by on Easter Sunday after church and they were roasting a delicious lamb on the sidewalk. We immediately changed our lunch plans and were well rewarded. We had the lamb special, and even the bed of rice it was on was heavenly. The side salad is not something I usually like, but it was delicious with the yogurt dressing they provided. The potatoes tasted like a cross between roasted potatoes and salt and vinegar chips without the salt. We got a side of hummus and it was garlicky and full of flavor. My son got dessert and it was fantastic. We ran into a friend who got the Gyro, and he said the meat was medium rare, flavorful and delicious instead of a suspicious boring brown. He said it was the best Gyro he's ever had.
We were helped by Sophie who was friendly and helpful. The service was delightful despite the place being very busy.
This is the best Greek food I have ever had at a restaurant. We will be coming back the next time we are in town.
Whenever I’m in a strange city I search out it’s Greek restaurants and I am rarely happy. That said, this place is, hands down, the best Greek food I have ever had! Plus everyone who had helped us from the hostess to our server to our bartender were friendly and accommodating. The lemon potatoes are a treat!
Planning a trip to DC in July, I may make a stop over here for late lunch!
Greek on Cary! A wonderful lunch and dinner spot! I’ll begin with their flexible seating arrangements with a small bar(seats 8), private patio seating and a spacious indoor dining area with lots of natural light and fun decor! They only have a few, servers/bartenders and I had one make a drink off the menu and I had her freestyle a drink with two ingredients I picked out! She’ll get you straight! Greek fries, feta, lamb, fresh cut homemade fries with taziki sauce on the side. Lamb is well seasoned, not too rare and cooked right to the perfect chew! Fries are definitely made in house. They are very good, not too salty and have a very soft savory flavor. The feta is very good and just melts in your mouth and pairs very nicely with the lamb! doing and I trust that she will deliver you not only excellent service and great conversation but she will make sure you got the best tasting medicine if you like to make your own drink! Alex is the owner and I had the pleasure of seeing him take initiative to help the servers during the busy lunch rush which was big in my book from a former bartender/server! My first drink was the Pineapple basil bourbon smash drink is refreshing and balanced with a nice dried pineapple garnish, my meal was just as good! Greek lamb Pita wrap: we have tomatoes, lettuce, lamb, red onion and taziki sauce wrapped up into a savory filling cocoon. Of you aren’t full after those lamb fries, you’ll definitely be full after these pitas! They are seasoned to the T! I’m a big fan of lamb and there’s very few places locally that serve it and I must say whether it be on fries topped with feta or in a pita paired with lettuce and tomato, Greek on Cary has some of the best lamb in the city! If you haven’t tried Greek on Cary yet, I highly recommend you add it to your list!
Greek style gyro was AMAZING! Great portion for the price too. My wife absolutely loved her Bronzini as well! The meat was flaky and perfectly prepared. Fell off the bone like butter!
The unique decor is a nice touch and the ambiance was magnificent. Moreover, the service was stunning! The waitress was very nice, friendly, attentive and definitely knew how to advertise the dishes. She was so enthusiastic that you'd end up ordering more than you could eat just for the sake of not missing out.
Now the most important aspect, the food was decent, but not mind blowing, in my opinion. I'll just describe one but the most important dish, to my mind. Among other dishes, we ordered the mixed grill so that we could have a taste of all different grilled meat options. I must say some of these were a bit tough, dry, under seasoned and most importantly they all could use a bit more flavor. The cut of the gyro showed space for improvement as well. Now I might still be nitpicking here, since the food overall is tasty nonetheless.
Cary Town is always tricky when it comes to finding a parking spot during rush hour, so be prepared! And this restaurant is also fairly busy, so wait time is not unexpected. Nevertheless, the place is worth a visit!
Generous portions, relaxing atmosphere and flavor-filled food make this a pleasant place to enjoy a meal with friends. Indoor and patio seating is available. Our server was attentive, but so very nice to have a chilled carafe of water on the table so we were never waiting for a beverage.
They have a nice beer, wine and cocktails list but the $3 Narragansett Lager pint can was irresistible on a summer afternoon.
Highly recommended!
Went on a busy Saturday evening. With a friendly smile were were seated quickly. The scene was pleasant with bench seats along the wall and marble textured tables. Fresh flowers shared the space with our silverware wrapped in a soft velvety hand towel. Ordered 3 mini gyros and a small platter to share. Enjoyed the meal, but it was nothing memorable. Chicken kebab was dry, fries were soggy (authentic Greek, as they were usually soggy there as well). I ordered a few extra taziki sauces and enjoyed the meal.
This was my first time going. My friends that I went with had been several times prior to. I will definitely return. Great food, prices, portions and atmosphere.
Stopped in on the way through town and was looking for something great to eat. Amazing and great tasting greek food. Definitely recommend the lamb gyro and chicken gyro platter. Reasonably priced lunch and large portions left you feeling contently full :)
Th eggplant spread was out of this world! Meat lovers, this is your go to restaurant. Vegetarian, do not worry, you will not regret eating here. I highly recommend the stacked grilled vegetable dish, but do tell them to grill them well. If you go on the weekend, plan on a 15 to 20 minutes wait. It is worth it though, so don’t go far away.
Amazing place, best gyros in the area! I always get the Lamb gyro. the cuts of meat are huge and real not processed. and all the ingredients are super fresh. I also get the hummus side sometimes and the portions are quite generous for the price and delicious. Plus the prices are great and the food is always ready in a flash. Love eating here
My husband and I dined here on Wednesday and absolutely loved it! Cocktails were well balanced, portions were big and the quality of the food was amazing! Waitress was friendly, atmosphere was great and we cannot wait to come back 🥰dishes pictured are grilled octopus, Greek nachos ( must) and lamb platter . Cocktails was a mezcal one and a mint vodka one. We will be back again for happy hour
