Ezell's Famous Chicken

I've eaten at a couple Ezell's around the greater Seattle area now and my experience has been pretty consistent. The staff are super friendly and jovial, and the food is a good value and portion size, but probably could be a bit better quality. The sides are the standouts here, especially the cajun fries, the rolls, and the mashed potatoes. The chicken tenders tend to be kind of dry but for the size and quantity you get for the price I can't be too harsh over that. Thankfully the regular bone-in pieces of chicken are more moist, so this problem seems to be isolated to the tenders. Dipping sauces are key to making the tenders much better (I love the spicy tenders + ranch combo myself). The rolls are great palette cleanser for the spicy stuff, the spice used is a slower burn with lots of paprika, a very dry peppery flavor, but is quite nice. Pairs great with a nice flavorful, sweet drink. If there is only one thing I could recommend changing, it would be to try and get the tenders to be more moist. Overall if I'm wanting something really filling for a very reasonable price, I dig this place. It's one of my faves. I'll keep coming back for the generous portions and sides for sure! Ridiculous. I go in just now and stand at the corner waiting to order, only to be ignored by the two girls arguing in Spanish with the cook in the back. There were 5 other people behind me waiting to order too. I stood there 7 minutes without so much as a "I'll be right with you sir," or even a glance in my direction. I walked out. I've never seen such poor service in Washington before. I just moved back here from Texas where I consistently experienced service like that. I never expected to experience that outside of Texas.
