The food is okay in general but the quality can be improved. We ordered gongura chicken curry, mayilavaram chicken biriyani family pack and chicken 555 starter. The biriyani rice was less flavorful and in general all the food had similar flavor to it.

Well my recent experiences with southern spice have been bad. So I gave a big order, from which, one was a family size biryani and other was 5samosa plates. After I took my order and checked it out at home. I discovered they gave a regular size biryani instead of family and instead of samosas they gave bonda. After calling them they said that we can get a refund tomorrow or whenever we visit (because we were in Seattle). The day I went there to talk about the misplaced order and refund, they started ranting that they will not issue any refund for the mistakes made by their employees and also started cribbing about their bondas being more expensive than the samosas we ordered and then dismissed us. Previously also they have provided bad stale food and that time we returned for another. Now I don’t think I can recommend anyone to go there.

Overall good food though the naan took a really long time before it was ready to go. I
I ordered butter chicken at medium spice level and butter naan. The medium spice level is already very spicy for those who don't eat spicy foods often. The rice was surprisingly not dry (I've been to places where the rice is bone dry) which was already a good sign. The butter chicken was great! The chicken was still tender, slightly overcooked but not dry nor chewy. Again, I got medium spice level which I think will be too spicy for non-spice consumers. The butter naan was slightly fluffy and slightly chewy, both hallmarks of great naan. Again, the food was great!
Service was generally good.
The bad: I ordered online which, after checkout, told me I had a 30-minute wait. When I arrived, I ended up having to wait an additional 30 minutes because their new hire at the naan station couldn't keep up with demand.
The good:
(1)They were really well-organized. Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, all dine-in services were closed but take out remained open and available. As such, apparently Southern Spice gets enough orders that they organized all of their orders according to how they were placed: 2 pick-up tables for online orders, 1 table for grub hub, 1 table for Uber eats, and 1 table for door dash. I found this very impressive.
(2) There was a steady stream of customers coming in to place and pickup their orders. That in itself should tell you that the food is good here.
Limited parking in front.

Southern Spice serves the best biryani in the area. Their chicken 555 biryani is one of the best biryanis in the Seattle area and their appetizers are also top notch. Definitely one of the best indian restaurants in the Redmond area.

Love the Biryani (Veg 65, Veg 555). Even the curries are really good! I don't know how the non-vegetarian food is but I have heard it is really good! I personally love the place and order from here multiple times every month for sure.

I’ve ordered Mylavaram Chicken Biryani last time and chicken fry biryani now. In both the instances, all I got was biryani rice with chicken curry over the top. These people so arrogant that they keep doing the same thing again and again because they feel that they can get away with this! This is as good as cheating the consumer. I was unhappy when I saw Mylavaram chicken biryani but I am agitated right now looking at my chicken fry biryani. Please don’t order biryanis at this place. They simply dont know how to make a decent biryani.

I ordered Biriyani but what I got was rice with a layer of chicken curry on the top. I don't recommend this place if you are looking for Biriyani.
I placed my order online, but I haven't received any update on the order status. The website offer status update via TEXT and EMAIL. When I reach the store after 30 minutes for pickup, they are unable to find my order and ask me to pick another order which was ready for pickup.
I am not too worried about such technical issues as long as the food is good, but they disappointed me with the low quality.
