Great little spot for breakfast! Super convenient to the train station and good coffee. The staff were great too, I'd highly recommend this place!

Where else can you get a good taste of hitherto underrepresented Scandinavia? The Danish Cafe is a small but impressive operation in a relatively quiet part of a usually bustling Red Bank. The food is undeniably Scandinavian (some salmon choices, rye bread, cheeses, etc.). But my weakness is cakes and they do phenomenal blueberry coffee cake and an even more astounding apple cake. The Danish Cafe does indeed sell fresh danishes (I'm told the proprietors get them from Denmark weekly!) with raspberry and apple being the best I've had there. The coffee is always great, the meals are generous and stylized, this is a gem you should check out as an experience to remember and to come back again and again!

Couldn't ask for a nicer staff, a more pleasant atmosphere, or better food & drinks! A few discombobulated thoughts: - The folks who work here are so nice, which is a great start to the Danish Cafe experience. - As others have noted, this place serves better Danishes than anyplace else I've been. I didn't know what a Danish should be until I tried one of theirs (which was, by the way, on the house on a day when they unexpectedly closed early - good customer service). - The place itself is spacious & airy, with lots of natural sunlight & high ceilings, which lends itself to a positive atmosphere. - They offer free, stable wifi &, as one of the staffers told me, "We never kick anyone out!" - though when I work from their dining room for the day, I try to buy something every couple of hours to pay my keep. - Great food! I love the Chicken Douglas (grilled chicken, curried mayo, pineapple, & bacon on ciabatta), which is light but filling & comes with a small salad on the side. Some of the traditional Dabish offerings may seem intimidating to American audiences, but nothing is too wacky or out-there. - Their coffee is really strong. My boyfriend likes it this way; if you don't, add a shot of flavor to your latte, like I do. You've been warned! I've not had any trouble with slow service, as some other reviewers have. The place has been in business for a few months now, so perhaps they've worked out the kinks & figured out their flow. I love it here & feel that red Bank has acquired a real gem with the Danish Cafe.

Dined on 8/26 walked in the place was empty. Ordered one omelette and scrambled eggs. Sat down waited 20 minutes. My boyfriend saw my eggs come out and we’re sitting for five minutes. They got ice-cold and on top of that a sweaty food runner touched the eggs with the back of his hand to check their temperature. Those eggs were served to me. Never coming back again. Disgusting

Authentic Danish food, nice decor. Not the "same old" breakfast. Caution, original Danish owners sold it, new owners slowly morphing into a generic eatery

Had a wedding rehearsal party brunch there and it was amazing. They brought out so much food and it was all delicious. Will definitely go again and probably again.
