I’m not a fan of “al fresco” dining, but the new patio at D'Carlos Restaurant is stunning! It is completely covered over the top and surrounded on the sides by lush, green foliage. You don’t have to contend with sun, wind, etc. Really the perfect, relaxing environment. They now have live music on the patio every Wednesday night at 7pm so I went to check it out. Such an enjoyable evening! Jon Hasz on guitar was outstanding. Definitely not "background" music. Jon is a talented artist; very engaging and entertaining without taking away from your dining experience.
One of the best parts was “Wine Wednesday”. Every Wednesday, wines are half-off bottles and glasses. A tremendous value! Turtle Rock Ridge Vineyard Winery was there with some of their excellent wines. The nice folks from TRR really added to the overall hospitable feel. I definitely recommend checking out the new live music on the patio at D’Carlos. I believe they’re doing it again some Thursdays and Saturdays. Fantastic way to spend a warm Ramona evening! The patio is completely non-smoking so it's great for families.
Down to earth staff. The atmosphere is definitely what you would expect coming to Ramona. Country vibe. Staff is friendly and nice. The food is so good! Breakfast is the best! The only thing I can complain about is sometimes the patrons will smoke right outside the door, so you have to walk through their smoke to get inside. I hate cigarette smoke! But that's not really the restaurants fault. Maybe just a suggestion for them to put a sign that asks for no smoking right at the entrance.
Excellent service by Brooke. Good suggestions, excellent results. Burgers were well prepared and significantly customized. Only drawback was the 'mixed greens' salad--pretty much white iceberg. Blue cheese dressing was good. Sweet potato fries were excellent!
I will start with the service being a little slow, this I can understand as they were fairly crowded and they have a help wanted sign up for every position a restaurant has except manager.
I tried their French Onion soup and it was very good, close to being the best I ever had which was a pleasant surprise for Ramona.
They have a decent menu selection with prices on the higher side but in line with California in general ($12 foot longs at Subways) and comparable to the better places I have visited.
I also ordered a Bloody Mary and that was surprisingly good as well.
In an attempt to eat as healthy as possible, I ordered a Chefs Salad for the second time this week. The salad was as good as it was the last time and that was very good as well.
Of all the places I have eaten at in Ramona, this place is up in front along with Pinto Tai, but that is apples and oranges.
I had the prime rib. It was great. Cooked just as I like it. Then they came by with the mud pie. Oh my. I almost finished that massive piece of dessert. One complaint, the plates are too small for their servings
Delicious! Wings, potato skins, and clam chowder all were very good. Waitress was exceptional! Food was prompt, thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
One of the best places in Ramona. They always cook my burger exactly as I order it. And their blue cheese dressing is hands down the best on the planet!
Great comfort food. My favorites are liver and onions or chicken fried steak. Their blue cheese dressing is the best I've had anywhere
My mom always told me, “Never trust a restaurant with an extensive menu, it’s better when they specialize in their dishes”. Well, she is proved wrong at D’Carlos.
Recently moved to Ramona and trying all the local spots. This is at top of my list.
Comfort food. Done perfectly.
We tried a few different dishes and all were on point.
Great local wine offerings.
Staff were all very attentive and helpful.
I hear I must return for breakfast.
I found the prices to be very affordable, as most are here in Ramona.
Desserts are so delicious, try the eclair!
