A hidden gem in the heart of Ramona! Who knew we’d have such a fine dining experience in the middle of the country? The decor is reminiscent of the Rat Pack days. The food is quite delicious and well prepared. I recommend the Prime Rib (only served during the weekends). It’s truly is the best I’ve had in all of San Diego. The wine selection is vast and the server offers tastings of wines until you choose one that satisfies you. Our server Ronnie was so kind, patient and professional. My friends and I truly enjoyed ourselves and can’t wait to return.

Fresh ingredients delightfully turned into a gourmet food! My husband had the Cesar salad with chicken and it was moist, tender and presented beautifully. I had the steak burger and it was worth every penny. Caramelized onions, fresh red onion, cheese and beef that was seasoned to perfection served on a tender brioche bun. This included two sides, neither of which needed seasoning. The chef is excellent and the staff was very friendly and attentive.
This is "DEFINITELY" a must experience place & atmosphere. The customer service is attentively top notch, & the food is exquisite.
This 4 year young restaurant is diamond in the ruff of Romona, with a menu that shines bright. This classy cozy corner restaurant with a wrap around patio is very inviting. With prices that will keep you coming back to devour the menu items like aged beef, pork shank & seafood. The flavors will amaze you & tantalize your taste buds.
If you find yourself in or near Romona, definitely make time for, "The MainCourse Restaurant".
If your not close, its definitely worth the travel, adventure & experience. Come as you are, there is no dress code... You Will be Amazed.
My GF and I came here for lunch on a random rainy Tuesday. This being my first experience, I was uncertain of what I would find... Luckily there were no issues with parking and we got off to a great start. No wait for a table, we sat quickly in a booth and started off through the menu. Everything looked good, we ordered a couple Irish coffees as I was pleased they had a full bar, as well as the crab cakes to start. The crab cake was delicious though a bit overpowered by the greens... Presentation is 3 out of 5 nothing fancy. We next ordered fish and chips as well as the thin cut rib eye sandwich.... Both were EXCELLENT! only unnotable mention was the sauce for the fish and chips... Wasn't really our thing... Tartar is hokey, yes... But it's a crowd favorite on the table. Our service was on point, and our server was attentive without being annoying and stayed nicely professional through the entire meal. Timing was perfect and we enjoyed our time from start to visit.
We had a "Galentine's Day" girlfriend lunch here. It was fabulous! Service was impeccable and food as well. Cutest ladies ' room ever. Crab cakes were the best I've ever had♡. We'll be back for sure.
Loved it
The staff was really nice and the place was Impeccable. From the restrooms to the bar nothing was out of place. The Benedict was spot on and the Greyhound served me well, I would love to try dinner.
Very elegant decor, very good food (farm/ table) pricey for area but a great experience overall.
The specifics. You feel like you’re visiting an upscale New York or Chicago restaurant.
The decor from the intricate marble & tile floor to the wood paneled walls, nice bar w/ a side wine wall were nicely done w/ attention to detail. Even the bathrooms were totally upscale.
The food both presentation & taste was very good. My only ding nevertheless was high prices, $24 for a buffalo burger & $32 for scallops, & these were the lower price options on menu. On final bill was even a 4% surcharge.
We have restaurant friends who are squeezed by excessive regulation & yearly increasing minimum wages in CA so I understand the difficulty facing restaurant owners in CA.
But people still need to be aware of an added charge that we didn’t see listed on menu.
So its a hidden gem in rural area of NE San Diego. I would definitely go for any special occasions, just not every day dining.
For us it was an 40 year wedding anniversary..
Went there with my family for a joint birthday dinner with my Wife.
The restaurant was quiet with only a few patrons there. Old timey music was playing softly over the sound system.
Our service started out well. Bread, water and an order of the Brussels sprouts. The Brussels sprouts were awesome. Would have been great without the pomegranate seeds, but when one of those ended up in a bite as well, they were over the top amazing.
I had the sirloin with scalloped potatoes and prawns. I ordered my steak medium rare because I like meat that isn't grey or akin to shoe leather.
My steak was slightly over done, but not to the point where I felt obligated to send it back. Steak and sides were served on a cutting board, which was a nice touch.
About midway through the meal, the head chef came out to check on us and apologize for a delay with the lobster tail for my father's order.
Overall, the food was fantastic. Aside from the few small miscues mentioned, I can find no fault and it's just as likely that those small things were one-offs that aren't indicative of the staff's commitment to a quality dining experience.
Stopped in for breakfast this morning. It was amazing. Food was prepared to perfection. I had bacon and eggs and my husband, eggs Benedict. Prices are real reasonable. We didn't have to drive down the hill, so we saved on time and gas too. The chef was brought around and introduced to everyone. It was just a great way to start our day. We will be back for sure. Quality of the food along with great service was a win win. Thanks for a great experience.
