If you are looking for somewhere classy and innovative then look no further! Iris, dear restaurant attached to the North Carolina museum of art, is a beautiful atmosphere with swirling a sculpture on the walls and beautiful natural light. It does not feel overcrowded although there is enough space for a party of 16. All of the servers are very professional and helpful by guiding you on the menu. They have lots of options for people who are on special diet's, like folks who do not eat gluten or R vegan. It's nice to have an option after walking around the grounds or the museum itself to feed yourself or your family. The food is absolutely delicious and obviously crafted by someone with culinary Expertise. There are so many of flavors that go into each dish and they are plated beautiful I like the plates are pieces of art themselves. It is a great place to go for brunch on Saturday and Sunday, but I highly suggest you call and make a reservation or hold a table because it can get very busy. I give this place 5 stars and highly suggest it to anyone who is intrested and a lovely dining experience. The high ceilings really give the place an air of luxury and contribute to the culture that you might find in the Room. The options for drinks are wonderful and your server well pair them with your dish with ease. I enjoy that they have fresh juices and coffee options as well. Everything is so nice looking and a semi formal it is a great place to go on a date as well!

LOVE this place! Great ambiance. Food is very nicely done. Perfect place for brunch or lunch, ideal to meet up with a friend, even if you don't plan to tour the museum much. During exhibit times make reservations!

Very much enjoyed meal here. Interesting options, friendly service. My father is a vegetarian and he found his meal satisfying. The negative is that it is loud in the restaurant. Great place to eat before, after or in the middle of your exploration of the museum.

Made reservations ahead of time. This is probably a good idea when going here during a popular exhibit. It is a small area to eat and enjoy seeing art. It is a bit loud at times and it is close quarters for seating. The food was delicious! I went during brunch so got the grit and eggs bowl with pico, Oaxaca cheese, black beans and spring onions. It was a nice portion to feel full but not overstuffed and needing to take food home. Would go again and get that item again. Staff were on top of things. Only disappointed that they don't use recyclable to go boxes, but use plastic. I hope they change that.

The menu was not extensive, but each item on it was made with an unusual ingredient or two. We ordered the scallops and the open-face turkey sandwich and we split a butterscotch blondie for dessert. All three choices were absolutely delicious. In fact, we only ordered the dessert because the entrees were so good - we almost never order dessert but we just felt sure they must make great desserts too! And it was as good as anticipated.

A sophisticated atmosphere for exceptional food and service. Try the caramel-topped bourbon custard for dessert and visit the galleries and gift shop afterwards. A stroll through the museum grounds is fantastic on a nice day.

Inside the NC Museum of Art. Have eaten there a few times now. Consistently good food. Service good. Had plus of not being in any hurry but service was good. Right next to gift shop. Between food, gift shop, and collections always an enjoyable experience, plus outside is also very pleasant addition.
