We were visiting a friend in the area (we live about 45 mins away) and my son wanted some sushi. This place was nearby and had great reviews. I was not able to get pictures of the sushi before it was gobbled up, but WOW! Such big rolls! I've become accustomed to mediocre at best sized rolls for the same price. They use a hearty amount of rice, but also don't skimp on the fillings. My son can normally eat three California rolls and feel full, he had a Cali and a caterpillar roll and couldn't finish! My wife had a Salmon Poke bowl that looked super fresh and I had the Chicken Yakisoba which was WAY more food than I needed.
All the ingredients were super fresh and tasted as if they were all individually prepped as we ordered. If we are in the area again, we'll be back AND we will recommend to those we know!! Keep it up!!

Mango Paradise and Ultimate Spicy Tuna Roll, so good! The shrimp fried rice tasted burnt, just the eggs was burnt ( how do you burn scrambled eggs) and we just scooped that part out.

Been curious about this place for months and finally just tried it. Took literally a few bites and trashed it. The Chicken Teriyaki was flavorless as if zero seasoning was used and maybe they relied solely on throwing sauce on it for flavor and the Beef w/ Broccoli had minimal flavor, mainly had veggies with barely any beef and the beef itself looked questionable.
For this place to have such high reviews, I was HIGHLY disappointed.

Food and staff above and beyond expectations. The sushi is super tasty and super filling. The Chinese food is pretty good. The service was amazing, which is slowly becoming harder to come by. 5 stars, thank you Happy Bento! We'll be back for sure.

When I moved to Puyallup a few years ago, I celebrated the occasion with sushi. I was fortunate enough to order from Happy Bento before any other restaurant, establishing a baseline. I’ve since tried the other sushi restaurants in the area, and I keep coming back to Happy Bento for these reasons:
Fresh fish
Perfectly cooked rice
Crunchy vegetables
Eloquent presentation
Fast, friendly service
Generous proportions
It’s this last point where Happy Bento earns their accolades. While their menu prices are a little more than their competition, Happy Bento’s proportions trounce their competitors. We’re all trying to stretch our dollars, and a sushi roll (or any menu item) from Happy Bento is a complete meal and well worth the price.

This is my favorite Japanese/Sushi cuisine in the area. The food is consistently delicious! They package everything nicely for to go orders as well. Friendly staff and lively environment. I recommend any bento box and the spicy tempura roll is a must try! Haven't had anything I didn't like so far. So delicious! I have to go at least once a month! I've attached their menu as of 6/24 enjoy 😉 🍣🍤🍥

The only teriyaki place we will go to in this whole south hill area. Amazing food, great service dine in and take out. Bento boxes are very well portioned. Sushi is incredibly delicious. Highly recommend everyone to give it a try!

The food is great! The people are nice. But the last couple of times we were there, the music was so loud we couldn't stand it. And last time, it was songs that no kids should be hearing. It was kind of shocking. I don't know why they'd think that was a good idea. We will only get ours to go from here on out. Kind of sad because we've loved that restaurant... I hope they change that.
